Now 160 NAD pp. Lovely campsite though in the river bed with ablutions build into and around the trees. Water is running till sunset because the pumps are solar powered.

Report Check-In

Like everyone else shared, great shade trees, clean camp, hot showers, little water pressure. Fees increased to 160 per person Jan 1st. Change was provided. Portable water looks clean and will find out about diesel as we leave.

This is a real oasis, with lovely shady campsites and good outdoor ablutions. Really impressive given the desert setting! Welcoming staff who even convinced us to stay another night and relax. Would highly recommend.

Very nice place to camp in Puros.
Sites are very well shaded and lots of privacy.
Each site with own toilet , shower (some donkey some solar), and sink.
No electricity.
Staff are very nice.
Price 150 pp/pn.
Wood 40 per package which can last for at least 2 fires.
We stayed for 2 nights.
There are elephants walking around.
The only problem is the 2 nights we've been there the elephants came in the afternoon and the stuff sayed there might not be water later because the elephant tear the pipes.
First night the stuff warned us beforehand (and after 6 pm there was no water at all) but second night they didn't so we weren't prepared.
For us it was a big issue because we like to shower before bed. And the sink didn't work as well as the toilet. Only in the morning (can't say time but at least 7:30 maybe even before) the water came back.
If it wasn't for that it's 10/10 camp considering where you are.
But be aware of the water.

Also very nice drives around to the canyons around. The drive to the skeleton view point which is west (on iOverLander) is on dirt road so no problem.
Enjoy!

Really beautiful camp under huge trees. Very clean and friendly. 150 pp

Th campsite is still great! And the chalets at the Bush Lodge has received some well needed TLC.

Spacious and very private campsite, beautiful rustic ablutions, very clean. Campsites are located so far apart you get lost :) Staff sells fantastic fire wood. Drive from Sesfontein to Puros very scenic. Would definitely stay again.

Report Check-In

Stayed here on last night of trip to Kaokoveld, shady spot overlooking flooding river. Ablutions good, good value at $100 pppn.

Now under Management of Puros Bush Lodge.
Still 150 N$ p.P.
Everything as described before.
Weak MTC Signal (Edge) at places.

Lovely campsite next to the riverbed of the Hoarusib. We stayed at site number 3 under a huge tree, which provided some shade. The ablutions are located in an Ana tree, which gives a nice bush feeling. Hot water is delivered by solar power. The personnel makes you feel home and were very nice. When we stayed there, no elephants visited the campsite. In fact, we drove the track along the Hoarusib and Khumib, and no desert elephant encounters at all. It seem they have migrated away this time of the year or we had just bad luck. Anyhow, the Campsite deserves a visit as you support the local community with it.

Such a peaceful and nice place! Large distance to other campsites, feeling nearly being alone. Campsites under or besides trees, with barbecue, sink and own shower and toilet nearby. Very friendly campmanager. Firewood 40 $. You have to bring everything, as nothing to buy. Even in Puros only a few things to buy, diesel seldom, only in 20l jerries at 200$

Really nice place! The shade from the big trees was so welcoming! Ablutions, fire pit and water taps at your site, made with care. Elephant visit at night. Absolutely one of the better community camps! Price for two: $N220.

Amazing campsite with super cool facilities as they are built into what seem to be tree bushes. We stayed at campsite 6 and had our own abolution and own kitchen area with a sink, both inclosed in low hanging trees. As we were there during dry season the river beds were dry but still the location is pretty special. During out stay we did not have any elephants come lay us a visit, but we were told they do come frequently and to just stay alert.

As we were a group of 4 and 2 vehicles using one campsite we were able to negotiate and only paid N$75 each.

Nothing much to add except that this is a fabulous place and I highly recommend! Still $120 pppn.

We did a 1.5hr tour to the Himba village with Steven. It was excellent and very genuine. $450 (2 adults).

As described, but now with solar hot water. Still N$110 pppn. One of the best community camps around.

All agreed! Lovely campsite, lovely people, hot donkey showers, lots of shady trees. Goes recommend!

Wonderful campground. Just as described. Showers are built into the greenery and trees. N$110 per person. Firewood for sale for N$40.
Puros is a tiny village of huts in the sand. On our way north, we were advised to skip Sesfontein and get fuel here. Bad idea. There is no formal fuel station in Puros. You call a cell number, which is handwritten on a sign as you approach the village, and a guy sells petrol and diesel in increments of 20 liters - if he has it.

Report Check-In

Superb place. Large, secluded, shadowed pitches under trees, each with own shower, toilet, sink and fireplace. Water for the shower is heated up on request. Great view over desert and mountains. It feels like bush camping with amenities.
NAD 200 (2 adults, camper)

Report Check-In

Well kept community camp along the Hoarusib River, great caretaker Max, pitches well spread out and separated with water, dish washing area, braai area, private ablutions built of local materials, wood fired showers, 100N$ pp (7€), we did not see desert elephants in camp but encountered them further north in the Hoarusib
