Parking and picnic area for garnet hunters. Sign posted off hwy 50, west of Ely. 3 miles gravel road that circles around the hill. Great views, toilet and picnic tables.
Lots of daytime activity right at the top, tons of rockhounds digging for Garnet. Has a pit toilet and at least a half dozen picnic areas with fire pit rings and BBQ grills.
Easily accessible by any vehicle. There are multiple secluded pull-off camping areas on the road up to the top.
No signs to discourage or say 'No camping'.

Easy access with any vehicle, well maintain dirt road. 3 bars of Verizon service. nice level parking area. It's probably not suitable for large RVs. Best for truck camper or class c. However, there are a few pull offs that may fit larger RVs before the parking area. Overall, it's pretty quiet. There was a constant stream of visitors until darkness. We found multiple garnet on the surface.
Report Check-InGreat site. Road is good, we have a Ford Transit and it had no issues with the road. Good T-Movie and Verizon signal. We were alone until almost 9:00am.
Report Check-Insuper cool spot. Ended up spending 3 nights because the garnet hounding was so cool! most people came and went every couple hrs. great Tmobile service. minimal garbage- let's keep it that way. also great stargazing, even with the mine running lights across the hwy. definitely would stay again.
Report Check-InDo NOT bring a Class A or B in here! We’re crazy and brought Lacey (our 30’ Skoolie) in and decided that this spot is fine (right by the entrance). It would be good for a small camp trailer or even a tent.
Report Check-InEasy road up, lots of possible spots in the area. Active with rock hounds searching for garnets. You can hear the mining operations on the next mountain over.

Report Check-Inmaybe up to class c can turn around at end of road, some dispersed camping spots all around the area with trees for shade.
Report Check-InWent to the top of the hill where the road ends. There’s a flat spot and a pit toilet. Saw some pull outs on the way up. Suitable tent spots up top not for a anything bigger than a Jeep IMO. Great views tho.
