Description

Nice little beach near the marino park from Uvita. Seems to be that in early days this beach was part of it, but now everything is broken and really old. The office, showers, the sink. No facilities are working anymore. We saw a small sign with camping area so we thought it is fine to stay one night. We didn't swim because of rain and the big waves. But the parking is fine with good ground and no mud. You can hear the noise from the street and everywhere there are signs that you should care about your belongings, but we felt safe.

This place is accessible again. There are several places to park, however to access the beach you have to pay for the entrance to the Marino Ballena National Park.

We were originally only going to stay for a night, but we ended up staying for a few days. The weather was beautiful (end of dry season). Even though the weather app said it was going to rain everyday. It always says that everywhere in Costa Rica ! So don’t trust it too much.
There is an old man who has lived here for decades. It’s an abandoned camp from back when they were building the highway in the 90s. This area is part of the park, so no camping on the beach. But the old man told us it was OK to stay a bit further up the property (about 50 meters from the water).
They don’t / can’t really charge to stay here, but the old man said he would accept any donation. We felt very safe compare to all the other spots around here, that had MANY signs about watching for your belongings.
It’s pretty big rig friendly. We had 1-3 bars of 3G from KOLBI.
There is fresh water creek right on the property, so you can wash off the salt water after swimming in the ocean.
We would definitely recommend staying here. Locals come to watch the sunset every evening. We stayed here during the week, and were the only ones here (besides the old man and his family) the majority of the time.
He did say the park rangers can be a little annoying sometimes. But we had no issues and never saw any of them.

nice place but moskitos attacks you in the night

Report Check-In

This beach is part of the national park and it is guarded again. We didn't stay because the are charging 3500 col pp por dia. Cold shower, bathrooms and a sink

Report Check-In
