We used Eduardo to ship from Montevideo to Houston. Be careful and check all of your documents. We found several small errors, but we're able to correct them before shipping.
The main issue for shipping to the USA is that there is an ISF form required by Customs to be filled out before your vehicle leaves Montevideo. This form wasn't filled out so we're being told by US Customs we'll incur a late charge and retrieving our vehicle may be delayed for further inspections.
We're looking at almost $2,000 more in charges on the US end.
We really like Eduardo, but just an FYI you may want to use an actual shipping agent because this has turned into a big ordeal on the US end for us.

Hello all. Just finished getting our vehicle out of the port in Montevideo, and wanted to thank you for recommending Eduardo Kessler as the import agent. The process was incredibly simple and we got our car within 48 hours of the ship arriving. We actually could have got it within 24 hours had we been paying closer attention to our phones haha.

Eduardo's fee: $250 (very reasonable for the hoops he jumps through on your behalf).
Process for you: takes 30 minutes to get the migration certificate (this government office is 5 minutes from Eduardo's office), then a couple hours in the port. Eduardo takes care of everything else! Very friendly and funny guy, and he makes the process painless. Will definitely contact him again for shipping back to Canada.

Very helpfull Eduardo. Is still in business. Paid $250 for his services. Took me 1 hour on day 1 (some documents and going to de Migracoines office which is 1 minute walk from his office) took me 2 hours the day after. Getting the car from the container in the harbour, Aduana, port services etc.

Not so profesional. Everything was good with him in Montevideo. We put motorcycle in a container and pay few times there and him. But you don't sign any contract with him so you don't know what will be on the other site of your shipment. We had to pay a lot of extra money in Rotterdam and he didn't tell us about that. When we did shipping with profesional shipping company we had contact and everything was better.

Very friendly and helpfull. Don't doubt if you look for a very professional agent ! He offeredbus to stay with our car at his place for free as long as necessairy for the car procedure. The place is 80 km east of Montevideo near to Piriapolis. Just ask Eduardo when you contact him

Very friendly and helpful Agent. But: Be aware that if you need to pay in cash and in dollar it’s not easy to get dollars in a high amount in Montevideo. The former service from bank of the nation to provide dollar does not exist anymore. And the ATM's in the bank of nation building does not support cards with chips. (My last chance was to use WU for a transfer) Get your dollars organized.. And have a great and easy shipping with Eduardo.

Correction: Eduardo Kessler is a shipping agent, but not necessarily for Grimaldi. He is an independent agent and arranges shipping through many different companies.
We shipped our vehicle back to the US through him. It couldn't have been a better experience: great communication, he was VERY organized and took care of all of the details, everything happened exactly as he said it would and on time, AND, the amount for the shipping came in a little under what he quoted for the price! The whole process - from meeting with Eduardo to turn in paper work, to locking the container with our vehicle inside - took less than 3 hours, and absolutely no stress! Highly, highly recommend him!
And on top of all of this...Eduardo is just a really nice guy!

We can highly recommend Eduardo Kessler. We payed $250,- but it's definitely worth the money, we could never had done it ourselfs. He has a lot of connections, helps many overlanders, speaks quite well English and is very friendly and helpfull. He answers all of your questions. He helped us really well through the difficult and bureaucratic process. We shipped our car (Land Rover) from Holland in a container and payed in Montevideo in total for the taxes etc around 1650,- in US Dollars (without the fee of Eduardo)
