United States
This is an established campground with shelters, picnic tables and grills. Adjacent to a river. Free camping for up to 5 days. Level spots. Right next to route 160. It reportedly floods periodically. Noise from highway but will subside in the evening. Listed as public use area, but free camping. It came at the right time. Route 160 was a nice twisty road but better for the motorcycle than the RV. Cat started to throw up. Wife was complaining. Then this spot showed up. It’s time for cocktails and chips.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Found myself the only person here. As others reported this place could be closed if the River is flooding but was high and dry when I arrived with substantial picnic shelters. A new gravel road was just put down so someone(?) city/county is looking after the place BUT the pit toilet was ridiculously full. The two lane road wraps about 2/3 around the campground. But traffic was nothing at night. You are out in the open with not a tree but it is after all a free campground.
Report Check-InOpen, free Campground! Not muddy at all. Water available, although sign says it's not potable. Bathrooms open.
Report Check-InStill closed and completely flooded. We were barely able to turn around to get out
Report Check-InLocation is still flooded 10+ feet from the rain, it’s totally impossible to camp. BUT there are areas off 76 that you can pull over and stay.
Report Check-InHeads up, this spot is currently closed due to muddy conditions.
Report Check-InWe were the only ones there. it was super foggy when we came in and late at night so we did have some issues figuring out where to park. it had flooded recently so there were tree limbs and debris scattered about and it was very very muddy. But we did have a nice walk around this morning and we did see a ton of deer as we drove in. We would stay here again for sure! it did have signs about having trash cans but no trash cans. they had covered picnic tables and a few had concrete pads others were pull through sites and a couple just pull in sites. did not see water or electric hook ups.
