Don’t give up! Drive the beach road the few km south and keep looking for them. We found two groups of about 10 each at the far south end and they were so fun to watch play fighting! Nobody else was around Sunday/Monday. Signage says no dogs. Also had a penguin friend hang out with us for the evening.
Report Check-InWe didn’t see any seal or elefants.
Lots of locals people around 15-20 cars also lots of peoples come here to walk with theres dogs, maybe it’s why it’s hard to see wildlife.
Beach it’s ok, not so much trash and it’s was not windy.
Report Check-InSchöner Spot mit vielen Möglichkeiten zu stehen. Wir blieben 2 Tage. Kein Internet oder sonstiger Service.
Report Check-InThere was a lot of sea elephant on the beach around 30. Just in front of the parking lot. We really recommend to come here and sleep on the beach, it’s one of our best experience.
Report Check-InI assumed that someone misidentified elephant seals as I was unaware that they were down here but decided to come take a look anyways. and they were right! from here we had to walk along the pebble beach north about 3.5km to find the colony of about 50. with good binoculars you could see them from this pin sprawled on the beach.
if you are out here with dogs or children be aware that this place is INFESTED with ticks. after getting back to the van we pulled at least 50 off of our 2 dogs. although I will say that they didn't seem interested in biting them, or us, it's still super gross!
also be aware that there is some rat sized hamster looking things here, not unlike a Pika in the US, that will scratch and bite anything you leave out overnight.
Report Check-Inwe didn't see any sea elephant today, but the beach is beautiful. there was no one, so we had the entire place to ourselves.
Report Check-InNo sea elefants and no sea lions today.
We stayed one night.
We saw a huge group of sea lions, around 200 of them. Worth stopping by. Just please don't go too close to them for picture. Don't disturb them so next people can see them.
Report Check-InGreat place to get up close and personal with the elephant seals.
Report Check-InAmazing place, we saw a lot of sea lions and elephants on the beach, you can just walk few meters away from them, it's incredible. Please preserve this treasure and don't disturb the animals :)
Report Check-InSeen around 15 sea elephants 4km more to the South from here (just follow the road by the sea and look for them).
We slept in the tent, woke up with sand inside due to strong winds.
Report Check-Ingot stuck in the sand for a day here be careful the gravel road is not as packed as it looks don't try and turn around other than in obviously established spots.
