Description

Our stay here in late October couldn't have been more peaceful and enjoyable. The views and sunset were breathtaking. We grabbed the first site we saw on the edge of a ridge that had a fire pit and were able to get pretty level. Had a great evening, night's sleep, and morning/afternoon with plenty of solar.

AMAZING! The location was easy to get to and the views were so good! It was very quiet and we woke up to wild horses right near our camper! Very special spot and it has a fire pit.

Pictures don’t do it justice, stunning views, and a complete panorama. Some of the roads are better than others. This area seem to be more tire friendly. Gets a bit windy up here but that’s to be expected.

Report Check-In

Excellent spot, though there is a lot of broken glass pieces in this site so be wary. County road was very smooth with no washboard. Att service is great.

Report Check-In

a truly beautiful spot. The road was pretty good for my low clearance sedan. along the main road, most of the initial spots were taken by people hauling campers, but when you took some of the shorter back trails there were open spots. Spotty T-Mobile 4G connection.
My spot overlooked the valley and Green River.

Wonderful large level spot with another nice spot about 50 yards away. Right off the hwy WY 53. Awesome view of the city of Green River and a look down the valley. Dirt road in great shape, some washboarding in sections but not much. Don't pass on it for the night. ATT: 4 bars, Verizon: 4 bars

Easy to access. Close to town. Beautiful views. Very dispersed area. But gets quite windy. Had cell service and a primitive fire ring.

There are a total of 3 sites where you can park at this spot. All 3 are big rig friendly. We stayed at the one nearest to the road. Stunning views and we had a couple of horses visiting twice a day. The wind can blow pretty strong at times.

Beautiful location with fantastic views in every direction. Easy access to this spot even with 2WD, although some side roads look like 4WD & high clearance would be helpful. Afternoons were pretty windy. Only saw 1 horse & it was from quite a distance, but this road is marked as a wild horse scenic drive on Google, so there are many out there. A handful of vehicles going down the main road each day. Good TMobile service.

Great spot overall! Winds were upward of 20mph while we were here, but on the plus side, couldn't hear anything from the road or train below. Hard packed road in is about as good as it gets when it comes to blm, hardly any washboard, no potholes, just watch out for the horse poop! Views are amazing and the highlight, of course the wild horses!

This. This is the one. Super quiet spot with an amazing view.

Beautiful spot!! Both sunrise and sunset were amazing when I was there, not windy at all. Road going in is gravel and flat, well taken cared of. Once you veer off the road to find a spot, it gets alittle bumpy but still fine. Spotty T-Mobile service. Didn’t see horses but beautiful view

Absolutely stunning vista overlooking the canyon below. Dispersed spots along the ridge. Locals coming and going in 4x4s but quiet the entire night (watched 4th of July fireworks from a near by town in the distance). Spent our travel out morning exploring more of the area. The dirt/gravel road goes for many miles. Spent the afternoon camped out in front of Pilot’s Butte enjoying a nice breeze and hot sun! Can’t wait to come back and explore more!

Beautiful hilltop spot, have come back several times; quite windy!! hardly even get out of my van; there’s a “creepy” guy who drives by slowly every night with his two dogs outside his truck, but believe he’s harmless, just hopes to intimidate out-of-towners, police are aware and present; 20-30 MBPS download with Verizon

Lovely camping spot. Wind comes and goes depending on the day. Great Verizon signal. Easy road in and out. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see some wild horses. But if you have pets, keep a close eye on them…my dog came extremely close to being bitten by a rattle snake!

Beautiful, easy to access spot along the road. Gorgeous panoramic views. Could hear and see the train in the distance. Easily accommodated our large rig. Enough room for several other large rigs to park and still have privacy. Fairly level. Road in was dirt, we’ll maintained, flat, and easy to navigate.

Just as described, beautiful and quiet... And there were wild horses running around! It was so wonderful watching them in this surrounding, felt like a wild west painting...

HOLY!!!!! this place is so nice. not a super experienced camper by any means and this is my first time at a blm site and while i have gotten too high and paranoid to pee outside (with a handy starbucks cup by my side, i shall persevere); i am still enjoying the amazing views. the biggest downside are the bugs for sure, the mosquitoes (i think ??) seemed small enough to get through my car window netting so i rolled the windows up to be extra sure. doesn’t seem the best for any pets to roam around, my area has a noticeable amount of broken glass bottles from someone(s) having too good of a time. also the signal here is great! highly recommend !!! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

Beautiful view! Slight noise from 80 down below, but a great place to stay a night or two. we came in June and road was great, got here no problem

Report Check-In

Great spot! A few spots to choose from look for fire rings. After the first few spots, the road gets kind of sketchy and I wouldn’t take my 2WD van past site 3 because of ruts and dips but several spots were awesome. One local came up and was walking his dog, otherwise it was silent and peaceful and I enjoyed the view.

Report Check-In

Wide road easy to drive, don’t miss the turn off to the campsites because I did the first night. Stayed up top overlooking the city. Too noisy for me with constant train whistles and i80 trucks. Second night, I found the campsites and it was much quieter, at least at site 2 on the right. Parked on snow but 4x4 made it easy to get out.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view. Super peaceful. The 2 mile dirt road to get up here is very well kept and easy to drive up in our van. Great spot right off the highway. Be sure to catch sunrise.

Report Check-In

Beautiful sunrise from the top of a hill, overlooking a sexy valley. Plenty of places to park. A bit of rocky terrain but nothing a solid vehicle can’t handle. Woke-up to mountain lion prints outside our van door. Fire pits at almost every pull-out.

Awesome spot! Looking forward to further exploring around this location. Spot good for stargazing in clear nights. Some highway noise but distant enough not to be overly annoying.

Report Check-In

Chilly clear night with a full moon, what a view! Had the place to myself. White mountain road is well maintained and quite flat. Had a few bars of cell service. Lots of spots to choose from off the main road and all with views. Lower clearance van not a problem.

Report Check-In

Just as described! Absolutely breathtaking view. Many spots on the road if you keep driving down it. I stayed in "spot 4" and it was super level. Our "neighbors" were far enough away that I didn't feel like I would bother them, or vice versa. Breezy, but it felt good and kept the van cool in the warm sun. Very open, no trees... Perfect for solar. I had good enough service to stream Netflix with AT&T. One of my top 5 favorite iOverlander spots!

Report Check-In

The spot at these coordinates was occupied when we got there so we continued along the dirt road and there were plenty of other great spots to choose from further in. Great view but quite windy. Spotty service with AT&T. Accessible for most vehicles.

Best site I could have asked for! we showed up at 1am with no idea what we were camping near. we woke up to a beautiful view of the mountains and an amazing sunset!!! it was super windy but so worth it in the morning!!

Report Check-In

Spent one night with my son in our camper van. Beautiful views, lots of space, easy to get to from IAD. No facilities. Slightly windy on top of a sage brush covered mountain.

Report Check-In

perfect spot, along the road are several places to camp, just take on that isn't occupied.
take care to not use a spot close to the cliff, or highest, thunderstorms lightning could hit you. and they are fast.

Report Check-In

Waouh ! Une vue magnifique au réveil avec des chevaux sauvage au loin. Un spot sublime

Report Check-In

Excellent campsite off Hwy 80. Felt very remote, no one else around. Gravel road in was washboarded but manageable in any vehicle. Full Verizon signal. Beautiful views. Slightly hard to find a level spot but other than that a great site!

Report Check-In

What an amazing spot the view is breathtaking !

Overall Rating

If you're coming up here in a RV, make SURE to enter from the Green River side! We took a drive in our car through wild horse loop towards Rock Springs and the entrance from that side is definitely treacherous for RVs.
