There are tons of dirt roads off of the main road with plenty of flat spots for all size rigs here. The forest service is capturing 1,000 wild horses down the road and removing them currently. It's a pretty cool place to be.

Nice open spots off of Crowder Flat Road. Plenty of open camping just west of Alturas. Slightly un-level but plenty of rocks around to chock a tire. Quiet and mostly clean, no bugs.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Drive in on a dirt road(Bumpy), couple different pull offs to choose from. Great views even with the smoke that’s here currently. Not much shade so a bit hot(90) in July but still really nice.
Report Check-InAppropriately named - we found dried bones! Beautiful spot at sunset. Spacious, flat, easy to get to with 2wd. Quiet and peaceful.
