Nice older park by a little lake. We stopped and ate a sandwich here. There is an established camping area on the south side of the lake. There is no indication that there is a charge of any kind. Toilets and water are available.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Not sure if there’s camping here— here at 5:30pm and there’s no one camping, but it’s a beautiful park that I had a wonderful hike in :)
Report Check-InMake sure to use the GPS coordinates provided. If you use gps, it will take you to the first entrance which was closed when we arrived around 9pm. The second entrance was open and campsites were immediately to the left with a porta potty not too terribly far away. We were the only ones there at night but two others had arrived when we woke up this morning. Rustic, but is perfect if you just need a spot to pull up to and sleep. We backed into a gravel spot right by the lake. Classic diner up the road was a great stop for breakfast.
Report Check-InVery nice free lakeside campground in this municipal park. No electric or dump station, and the single hose bib to fill portable water is kinda hidden and not terribly convenient. But free is our favorite price, and this place is very quiet with level spots, nice views, and a playground for the kiddos. Good cell service with both ATT & Verizon. We definitely recommend.
Report Check-InThis is a hidden gem. Close to I 40 and near town but another world. Take the second entrance to the park and camping is right there. A bit of a walk to the Porta potty, so stay near the entry if this is an issue. Classic Diner is just before the turn onto Lake Road. Harvey Q's BBQ and cheap fuel are at the corner. It felt nice to be someplace this real.
Report Check-InWork in the area every six months. Stayed here many times about a mile from the location marked. Just keep following the road and you’ll see a picnic table and building. Full bars AT&T. Nice (fairly new) disc golf course, haven’t played it yet but I’d bet it’s an 18 hole judging by the size of the park. Another good spot is the old city lake a few miles east of town, not good cell service there though
Report Check-InAppears to be 5 or 6 camping spots. As of right now, we are the only ones here. There is no sign regarding fees or check-in anywhere. There is a portajohn up the road near the small playground.
Report Check-InAbout 5 or 6 camping spots. No sign regarding fees or check-in anywhere. Portajohn located up the road about 200 meters.
Report Check-InThis is still a good place to camp for free. There's probably about six sites. It's a little hard to tell. There's 5 of us here now. We all came in around dinner time. So might be busy. I have not found any water spigots. There's a trash can. A small playground nearby and a tiny creek. There's a bigger playground across from the lake. The little road that the sites are on has a turnaround at the end. It's hard to see because it goes down a hill. I probably wouldn't bring anything bigger than 35 ft in here. I have also not see any vault toilets. There might be a porta potty around but I wouldn't rely on it.

I don't know if I would bring a rig larger than 35 ft or so.
Report Check-InNice place for free camping. The lit area (not too bright) was nice for me as a solo SUV camper. I arrived after dark and the gates were still open. Google Maps wanted to take me to a different park entrance, so definitely use the GPS coordinates.
Report Check-InQuiet park, lots of flat areas. We were the only ones here and had a great lake view. For such a small quiet place there seemed to be a lot of traffic on the park road. Follow the co-ordinates to find the csmpground.
Report Check-InThe park is open and the camping is free. There are no toilets in the camp area though there was a porta potty at the children's play area near by.
Report Check-InGreat for a quick overnight. Campsites closed due to COVID19, however no signs prohibiting overnight parking so car camping was fine
Report Check-InThere are barbecues and firerings. Near to a lake. Good for an overnight stop. And free!!!
Report Check-InWe arrived just before sunset. There is a very level parking spot at the end of the driveway leading down to the floating dock. Very peaceful!!
Report Check-InHere is an update for the location: Better coordinates 35.40782, -95.98005.
Report Check-InThere is a free camping area on the hill above the lake. Very close to the road.
It is lit and very quiet.
We pulled in around 6pm on a Wednesday. No one was here.
The south west entrance on the road that runs along the west side of the park is the closest entrance.
