We loved our time here. As described by others, the place is beautiful - with lots of life going on in the trees around the swamp, as well as in the swamp itself. Recommend doing the 7km loop.

The camp site is very well kept, with a hot shower, place to do your dishes and very friendly staff.

Beautiful campsite with a view over the swamps and with plenty of grass and shade. Benches around the camp to sit and watch the world go by. We did the walk around the park which is beautiful and interesting, but in reality we didn’t need to leave camp as saw sitatunga, colobus monkeys, crowned cranes, bushbabies, genets and even the elusive De Brazza’s monkey came to visit.

The camp staff offered a bonfire which we declined. Ablutions clean and functioning. Electric points in the gazebos. Staff were really lovely and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we wanted and were happy to point out items of interest.

All in all, a very peaceful and beautiful little park and interesting to see how such a small reserve can work so well.

$20 pppn for camping + $22 pp for entry. Can’t remember the car fee but typically low like rest of Kenya. They are now on a new payment system so entry needs to be handled online via an e-citizen account. Was very new when we arrived so a few teething problems. Staff were great at trying to guide us through the process, but the system is completely out of their control.

Great KWS campsite. With nice walks around the swamp with some wildlife. Flushing western toilets, power, fire pit, bbq, and a treehouse Banda.
Banda was 2500 ksh 1 room with 2 beds a double and a single. Toilet with shower and balcony views over the swamp.

Camping was 200 ksh per person for residents + park fees (350ksh) they lit a fire for us and had tents and a cook for hire.

We really really enjoyed the atmosphere of this peaceful campsite! You're under umbrella acacia trees facing the swamp where we saw 3 sitatunga antelopes and crested cranes. Colobus monkeys and white beard monkeys stay on the trees during the day and bush babies in the evening. Facilities are great and well maintained: electric hot showers, flush toilets, fireplace, braai place, shelter with electric plugs (which are working now), picnic tables and firewood provided! Great 4G signal with Safaricom and Airtel. Staff extremely friendly! A bit expensive if you're international (20 USD ppn) but absolutely worth it if you're resident (200 KES ppn)!
