Description

Closed when we stayed there, no fee. Another RV was there, no "no overnight" sign. Just in front of river, sweet view and very quiet. Maybe electricity available, I didn't try to plug in.

Huge clean parking lot at boat launch along River. Quiet and serene. We did get the knock at 3:30 am. Sheriff said illegal to park at city parks however ok we were there. Very nice. Said they have to knock as a welfare check because they’ve found people ODing and people who have died.

Beware of crazies!! We had some crazy local drive up to us around 7pm honking his horn and flashing his lights. I went outside expecting to have a conversation with security. But vehicle drove off to other side of parking garage lot, came back and sat in car shining his lights on our trailer. I finally approached him and he tore off yelling he had called the cops and we couldn’t stay there. Guy was about 70 and fancied himself one person neighbourhood watch. He raced off. We packed up and left. Ended up staying at the Loves travel Center about 40 mins E on the 40. Better place to stay in the end.

Nice big parking lot next to the river. Picnic tables. We had the same experience as most, no fee because toll booth closed for winter & bathroom locked. A ranger circled the lot a few times then left. We weren’t bothered. Be respectful & leave no trace and you’ll be fine!

Convenient spot to stop and park for the night. We got there late and the toll booth was closed. Woke up at sunrise to the Colorado river. Had some coffee and a little walk around the park and there was a playground for our kid and grass for our dog. We left by 8 am and some people were already launching boats at the ramp. No one bothered us all night and it felt clean and safe. Ranger drove by several times but didn’t say anything to us. Good quick sleep stop on our way to the Grand Canyon.

Great spot and free this time of year but that means bathrooms are not open. We had a 5G TMobile signal.

We stopped here for one night. Rolled in about 5-6pm so it was already dark. We were the only ones here. Didn’t need to pay a fee because the pass is only for certain months of the year and December isn’t one of them. Don’t get this park confused with Jack Smith Park. Make sure you add the memorial part when putting it into your gps otherwise it will take you 6min to the other side of the park where it’s a trailer community. Not a big deal but confusing when you are unfamiliar with the area and it’s dark.

Really great spot to stay. You can wake up and take your coffee down to the river in the morning. The only thing that felt a little weird is a cop showed up at the parking lot around 9pm. He was flashing lights on our van and we thought maybe he was going to tell us we can’t park here. By the time my husband got out of the van to talk to the cop he was already on his way out of the park. About an hour later there was a car driving very fast in circles in the parking lot. The cop came back and we could see him pull the car over. After a few mins everyone left and that was all that happened.

It's a very nice park to spend the night. I rolled in at 12:30 in the afternoon. There was no one at the Office to give money to. I was willing to spend the $5 for a day pass, regardless. A maintenance man at the office should have known them was at the gate, don't worry about paying. It was Saturday afternoon And the park was sparsely populated. There are small "private" beaches along the East Side Of the park that are easy to access and offer some measure of privacy from the surrounding setting.
Night time was mostly quiet it's mostly quiet with a few trains in the distance. Also, coyote's cries could be heard, Which unfortunately for me, creates havoc with my dogs, But I am well used to that being in the Southwest. There were a couple people in the parking lot for short times, But they were just doing their stuff and not being loud. I think perhaps a few women went to the bathroom. The surrounding populace seems friendly.
It is now nearly 10 o'clock A.M Sunday morning, and I have not been bothered by anyone and am preparing to pull out.

This place, I would give high recommendations for. The park and the bathrooms are kept clean and are very nice.

Monday morning and throughout the day, swarming with park workers even though off season. Kept driving by me and staring at my rig. Monday night around 9:00, cop car drove by then stopped for several minutes Turned around so headlights shone on my license plate. Confident they ran my plate. Nothing to hide, but felt unwelcome. Bailed right after sun up.

Seemed to sketchy to stay. If there were any recent folks who stayed and rated on here, we would have likely stayed? We turned back and hit the fwy for a different location.

nice place. 1 of 2 restrooms open. no one else here.

Fri Nov 13th. We stay in our 4Runner with 2 people and 2 dogs. Covered windows (you need that for parking lots) since it is a parking lot. Covid time so 1 restroom closed but 1 open. Massive parking lot...plenty of room.... there are train tracks super close but they don’t rip their horns.... very soothing train wheel assembly to track melodically clanking (we dug it). 10 out of 10 on our scale of free sleep without hassles in our ride with bathrooms and space to walk mutts.... thumbs up emoji.

Very large parking lot and small city park at the boat launch into the Colorado River. Pleasant 360 views of the mountains. Many dozens of long pull through spaces sized for trucks pulling boats. Parking lot is paved and completely level.

2 restroom buildings with flush toilets, multiple dumpsters for trash, fairly clean. Drinking water available from drinking fountains or restroom sinks. There is no hose bib for refilling RV water. No dump station.

The restroom building by the river has 1 15A outlet in the front, probably where a vending machine used ti be. It works.

No signs prohibiting overnight parking/camping.

The kiosk up front indicates they charge a $5 day use fee on weekends during shoulder season (Mar 1-Apr 30, and again in fall), and every day during the summer. No charge in winter. We were there during the COVID closure, so nobody was manning the kiosk to pay.

It’s a Marina park right on the Colorado River with lots of pull thru spots. There are two bathrooms in the parking lot, one was locked, one wasn’t. The one that was locked had an unoccupied space for a vending machine with a working outlet. Bathrooms were decent with prison style toilets. Walk down to the river and theres a little beach, with an epic sunrise view.
