Description

Quiet, beautiful and free :)
Well hidden between the rocks, beautiful view to the bay and the monster waves. Much better than the wild camps in the park 3 km north of here, which are not really legal. 3G mobile internet.

We preferred to stop here. Because it was very bumpy after this point. Maybe we enter into the land in wrong place for wild love. But it was perfect. Slept well. Very quiet. See view. Not to windy. Big rig friendly

Quiet place to overnight. Easy to access with our Kombi a lot of space.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay a couple of nights, lots of spots even for 2wd

Report Check-In

Great spots all around, close to the beach, very calm.

what a great place to be. We enjoyed our time here, with the view on the white !!! beach, the ocean and the dark rocks. Sadly we had to leave after 2days because we did not take enough food and water with us.

Followed our fellow travellers' advice on this one and it paid off. It was our first experience wild camping with our two toddlers and it paid off. Accessible, flat, tucked away. Only spent the night but even then it was impressive, can only imagine it by day.

We camped a little south of here, inbetween two rocky outcrops on the beach (4wd only). Just wanted to give a heads-up to future overlanders: the high-visibility/safety vest is no longer tbere, but the metal stake still is, and so is the white sign saying 'Azucar' (a little further away from the road). Just drive slowly and you can't miss it.

Report Check-In

Nice spot but a lot of toilet papers and tampons. IT is dirty why not take it along in a plastic bag and depose it in a container. The next visitor has then also a clean place.

Report Check-In

Top spot at the white sandy beach. Also at weekends in high season were just up to 4 people here.

OMG! Amazing spot as everybody says!We arrived here 8:30 pm and it was just getting dark, since is almost summer here, so we had daylight.
Nobody around, amazing beach. We have 4x4 but you can get here without it.

HEY!! The iron bar has a green shirt on it, and the white pole has an inscription which says 'azucar'. Those are good signals... if the green shirt is not there anymore, at least the 'azucar' inscription will remain.

Come here. It is amazing. Like a beach on Mars. :)

really a beautiful place. we stayed 6 days. there are plenty of spots for motorhomes.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot as others have described, many places to choose from. We turned off at the post with the high vis vest which is still there. A few other cars around but the beach is so large it does not impact your enjoyment.

Absolutly beautiful place to stay. There are many spots even for 2WD. We were the only one. Silence and perfect.

Report Check-In

Amazing beach about 3 miles long and a 1/4 wide with no one on it. We rode all the way to the edge with our motorcycle but not before getting stuck once or twice. Stayed there 2 nights and 3 days, only saw one couple for the whole time we were there. We had complete privacy for being so far as the beach is very wide. The sea is strong there a bit too rough to swim. Great spot!

Gorgeous spot! We tucked into the rocks down on the beach and spent the evening making pizza on the fire and enjoying cervezas at sunset.. also for us one of the nicest beaches in Chile

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 days there, it was absolutly wonderful... spot hidden in the rocks just above the magnificent white sand beach...

Report Check-In

Gorgeous place!!! Really wished we could have stayed more than one night. Soft white sand and nobody else for miles. Very tranquil and beautiful beach. Our Toyota 4Runner [Old Grey] had no issues whatsoever driving in. It's true, the pull off is a little bit before what is marked in the app. We've included a pic of the poles that mark it, currently one of them has a high visibility vest tied on it. Enjoy and remember to leave no trace!

Free! Take your time to find a proper place for your tent 'cause there's lot of hard-rocky soil. At this time of the year the strong winds come mostly from S-SW so consider this to place your tent properly. The white sand beach is amazing, the most beautiful we have found in Chile coming from the north so far. Bring supplies, and we advise to enter from Chañaral, there you could buy stuff and fuel your car. Enjoy it! 😁

one of the best spot we ever camp.
very quiet and relaxing. the white sand beach is a pearl and most of all there is no trash!!!

Report Check-In

Easily one of the most amazing free camp spots we've had on the trip. Miles of empty beach all for ourselves. When do you ever get to drive on to a beach and actually feel like you are all alone in the wilderness? Sure, drive further down the road into the NP and pay for an overpriced palapa and a cold shower. We had a look after 2 days and turned back to our fav spot here where the scenery is equally beautiful. Completely deserted, not visible from the road and for 4 days we hardly saw anyone except birds and pelicans and the odd fisherman on the south side of the beach. Definitely air down your tires, we got stuck once as we are heavy (5ton) but we got out easy enough. Many points of entry, just choose one and enjoy it. For free. Cannot recommend enough!

The iron bar everybody is talking about is a bit before this location. It's a broken - off, rusty sign post and another white standing pole. Free camping on very wide white beaches.

Report Check-In

enter at the entrance furthest from the park where the iron bar is. after 100m you're on a level mound parking lot with a view over the beach. hard packed, easy to get in for a 2wd or a big rig, nicer beach than those in the park.

We are here at this gorgeous white sand beach with plenty of room for more campers. We did get stuck in the sand where ur was very soft but had some firewood and digging to save the day. no one around. highly recommended

Report Check-In

Amazing! We camped a little further away from the entrance to the other guys (maybe 500m back), but really incredible. We had a look at the campgrounds inside the park first and this area was more beautiful than those.

Report Check-In

beautiful, wide beach, you have it too yourself. The point marked, marks only the entrance to the site. You will have to follow the road all the way down. There are two entrances (it's a loop)! The one closer to the national park is a lot rockier and narrower. The easier one is quite wide, and marked with an iron bar.

Wonderful place, very quiet. Nothing but the Pacific, the white sand amazing beach and the rocky desert. Great Entel coverage (3G). Some toilet papers though around, respect the place if you like it 😉

Quiet, beautiful and free :) hidden behind big rocks from the road. In my opinion this beach is much better than the ones inside Pan de Azucar
