Not a ton of penguins here on this date 2024, but nonetheless a very nice place to see penguins. We preferred Cabo San virgenes southeast of rio gallegos. Many more pingüinos and totally free . The layout at punta tumbó is very confusing. The welcome center is nowhere near the pinguinera. Buy tickets and then you will have to drive again to see the pingüinos. It’s just a ploy to get you to spend more money at the cafe and there is nothing interesting near the ticket office

Entry is now 8500 ARS per person - very expensive. However, if you enjoy nature and want to see penguins, you won’t be disappointed. Make sure to bring your camera and binoculars! The penguins were walking straight across the path infront of us so the binoculars are not really necessary but it’s cool to use them to see the penguins swimming in the sea.

Amazing place, thousands of penguins.
Now 8.500p per adult, only paying by cash. Dollars accepted also. 22 km of ripio to access but it's really worth it. Totally recommend. Season from September to April.

Report Check-In

entrance is 5400 pesos for foreigners (09/23).

insane amount of penguins to see! they’re literally everywhere. mostly males prepping nests but also some females (be sure to let them pass and do not in the slightest disturb them, a ranger explained that they might not find their way to their partner if you do). also be sure to avoid touching the railings of stairs and bridges because of the bird flu. there was a sea lion laying around who had the bird flu according to our guide. 5400 is more than worth it, i’d say, especially in september! (added a picture of the calendar so you can see when you’re there and what part of the cycle the penguins are in!)

also guanaco’s are all around! very cool to see. don’t get too close tho, they’ll spit on you. anyways! amazing park, very fun! enjoy!

Report Check-In

They close the place middle of april, even if there are still penguins, you can not access. Luckily we wer informed by locals in camarones, an went to the beautiful pinguinera cabo dos bahias.

Report Check-In

A lot of the penguins spend the day on sea fishing. There are more in the colonie early or after 1600. But anyway ther are always hundreds around anyway.
But your ticket near the upper parking visit the exebition and the drive down to the colonie and park there. It's about 1 km to the shore.

whats an amazing experience! thousands of pinguins and baby pinguins, for me one of the beautiful experiences of my life. I love animals and pinguins are my favorites♥️

Report Check-In

Now 2300 per person. Worth it if you haven’t seen penguins on a previous stop.

Report Check-In

This place gets closed after Easter until September 15.

Report Check-In

We drove the bad ripio late in the afternoon and wanted to stay overnight in our campervan. After our dinner the rangers came and told us that it was not allowed to stay overnight on the parking of a nat. park. No discussion possible. She told us that there were only a few pinguins left. We did not comeback the next day so we did not see them ourselves.

Report Check-In

The 22 km gravel road is very good, at this moment.
The Mini buses arrived at 12, so we had in the morning the place nearly for us.
Here the boardwalks are in parts on the ground or they ends and you go on gravel. Pinguins often cross your way and this is different to Cabo dos Bahias, there you always go on a higher boardwalk.
Arg$ 1.300/person

Price for foreigners: 1300 pesos per person. Gravel road not so bad, from all the 4000 km we traveled we have had much worse. We spend 40 minutes with our campervan driving the 23 km ( dry road). Museum is interesting to get some detailed information about the life and habits of these pinguïns. Toilets near the museum were clean. We arrived at 13.30 not too crowded at this time. Very nice park, a must see!

The 22km entrance road is a mixture of washboard, loose gravel and deep sand. Very difficult on a motorcycle. I almost lost the front end a few times.
Speed limit is low so takes a long time to get there.

Fuel stations are a long way so check your range before setting off.

Go early. Aim for 9am. At 10, mini buses were blasting past me and filling the place up with people.

The museum includes a mini cinema. I wasted half an hour watching that. See it after the 3km walk around the penguin rookery before they all hide in the shade from the sun and the walkways become crowded.

Lots of penguins. Lots of people.

Worth the 550 but not the long journey plus 22km finally over poor ripio.

Beautiful place, huge penguine colonie. Highly recommend. Foreigners pay 550 ar$.
With heavy vehicle choose to arrive via ruta 75, as this is paved road (at least for a bit). The other ways ar all gravel roads and will take you much much longer (about 2.5 h from Punta Tombo back to RN3).

270 for Argentinean went there quite early at 8 had plave for ourselves and jere were lots of penguins around ( in hot days they tend to go under bush and in tje nest )

Report Check-In

550 pesos to foreigns, very organized place, musuem and toilets. 22kms off road.

Report Check-In

An awesome place to see loads and loads of penguins up close. Right now the chicks are beginning to shed their baby feathers but are mostly still super cute and fluffy and right by their burrows. From April they will all have gone back out to sea. The road is good except the last 22kms which are gravel and washboard, a bit bumpy at times but definitely not the worst we've seen by a long way!

Report Check-In

Was definitely worth a visit for us! We've seen so many babies, so cute! We also liked the musuem/information at the beginning very much. Also paid 550 per person. Toilets were o.k. for us at both places. I would definitely recommend to go there before 10! There were dozens of busses coming as we were leaving. Lines and lines of (sometimes rude) tourists, who didn't stick to the (quite simple) park rules. So best come early! 😊

Report Check-In

At the moment the penguins are hatching their eggs and if you are lucky you can see the young ones under the mother. Still 550 P pp, kids under 6 are free. The bathrooms next to the visitors center are very clean, the ones by the pinguinere are just disgusting. Right next to the place where you have to show your tickets, before you enter there is free wifi (chubut wifi). Road to Punta Tombo and continuing to Camarones (1) is very good.

Report Check-In

550 pesos per adult
300 pesos for children (6-11)
In November, the penguins are nesting but you can see them very well, from closer. Not so many on the beach.
On November 16th, we saw only 2 chicks.
Not very good and quite expensive restaurant.
Be careful, no gazoline 110km before and after.

Report Check-In

Nice spot to see penguins, some are very close, the road is ok, we paid 550 peso p.p, it‘s better to come early (8-11am) because of the tourist busses

Report Check-In

Just been there but it is closed until September (apparently no penguins). But we saw hundreds in Cabo dos Bahias and it was for free with really nice ranger who let us to have a shower.

Report Check-In

We knew there might be no penguins but hoped to see just a few. But when we arrived at the entrance gate, it was locked (see picture). ,,no hay pinguinos, cerrado hasta septiembre,,. Park will open again in september before that you can not enter!!

Report Check-In

400pesos p.p
