Something not right?

Description

This is a dry camping area with no amenities except a vault toilet about halfway to the beach and trash dumpsters near the highway. Most of the road is rough with a washboard surface. This site is suitable for rigs of all shapes and sizes and allows camping right on the shore of Lake Mead.

Nice spot with terrific views of Lake Mead. The road takes a bit of patience, but we easily made it in our 4x4 sprinter in only 2wd in dry conditions. You can camp right on the shore of Lake Mead but the bugs were thick, so we chose up on the ridge. There were just a couple other people camping in Jeeps but there were quite a few people fishing. I wouldn’t take a pull behind camper down here, but it’s great for my class b or truck/car/tent camping.

Visited on a weekend. Room for plenty of vehicles at the spot by the lake and along the way in. Others were camped by the lake. With some clearance, you might find offshoot roads that climb the hills on either side and find your own spot with a panoramic view of the lake and surrounding country.

This spot is right on the lake shore with beautiful views. A coyote family roams here and we've seen many sitings. Also, many ducks, cranes, loones, and egrets are about. The dirt road has some areas of deep washboad, but doable in any rig or car, just take it slow. Pit toilet about half way in; well kept. Trash containers near the entrance. Mostly free of litter, but there are areas where people have left trash. Pack out what you pack it; keep it clean! It has been mostly quit for our stay with some nice neighbors, but there have been visits by others that were very inconsiderate (comes with the territory sometimes). Please be considerate of your neighbors. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, cliff diving, boating (small in size) - all accessible from this area. 40 minutes to an hour to Vegas. 3 bars Verizon, 1 - 2 bars T Mobile.

In my Chevy G1500 I made it as far as I could before road turns into really soft sand. Didn’t see any other dry campers by me so I didn’t want to push my luck if I got stuck. Beautiful view where I stopped, better than government wash but doesn’t have trash bin or toilets . Pack in, pack out. Come prepared so you can stay a few nights.

Great spot - looks like the trash previously mentioned has been cleaned - please let’s keep it that way! LNT

This one of the finest locations we have dry camped. Yes, lots of people leave behind their trash and that sucks for sure. But, the views are amazing. If you have a 4x4 with just a little clearance you can get further back off the beaten path and find much less trash. We camped here for almost 2 weeks and only had one person come by our camp as we were back well off the main dirt road entrance. See our pictures, it’s a stunning place to hang out!

I did engage my 4x4 pretty soft. only one vanner out there. Very beautiful.

it would be a nice area if people picked up their trash and didn't block the entire bank near the lake. be kind and courteous to others that also want to camp if there is open space you need to move your vehicle so others can pass. entire bank was blocked for 4 days. ended up leaving this area.

Great cell service, but trashy spot. Garbage, bottles, glass litter the entire area. We planned to stay for a week but left early because it's such a mess here. Soooo unfortunate that people can't take care of the outdoors... 😔 Lots of room for any sized rig and plenty of space, but pretty sandy down at the beach. We came down with a 38' fifth wheel and parked just up from the open beach area. Slow going coming down the road due to the washboards like others have mentioned.

If you drive something with four wheels, chances are you can make it here with ease. HOWEVER. You MUST take the drive slowly! On my way to my previous campsite we had a washboard road like this one and when you try to go 30 mph chances are you will wreck your car.
Needless to say, even a jeep can't recover from sitting on it's roof.
Wonderful site, waters warm, area is quiet, make sure you pack your poo!

it's open again and it's pretty nice. not too many RVs, maybe 5 well spread out. got my 40 foot school bus down here but the washboards were gnarly.

seems like there's a boat launch or something nearby as a lot of trucks with trailers go by late into the evening.

Pretty decent spot outside of the amount of traffic. Some people are on top of eachother in sites.

This place is trashed, literally! It’s obviously used as a huge party area and the amount of trash is disgusting. We didn’t stay.

Long washboard road to get to the lake. Beautiful beach with shallow water. We parked right on the water with our 2wd Sprinter. was very busy Sunday afternoon but everyone left and we were the only ones here.

Nice place. Good dirtroad for 2WD. On weekend partyzone with loud music. Have to remove car for sleep.

great view of the water. plenty of space. 4 bars of Verizon cell service. great place to let the doggies run around. road in was fine. we have a 2-wheel drive sprinter and did just fine!

More secluded and less people than govt wash. Easily navigated with our 4x4 sprinter 144. Access to lake and great sunset. 4 bars of AT&T. A piece of trash here and there... C'mon people.
