Description

Entrance fee for park is required.
If you want to go further south on South Beach, be sure to check tides before (Park Rangers hand out printed tidal charts for free) and to have a proper 4x4 vehicle, because the sand will be pretty soft down there. The further you go, the narrower the beach gets and driving along will only be possible at low tide, there might be a lot of thriftwood... same for your way back.
Cell signal you will find only by chance, only the south tip will have cell signal from Port Mansfield.
Beautiful spots, very peaceful.

Latest Check-Ins

Amazing beach camping, several different spots along the beach. Packed sand for the most part, until marker 15. Lots of washed up garbage so do your part and take more out with you than you came in with. Bit of traffic during the day but quiet at night. Beautiful spot. Dog was in beach heaven but be careful to keep pooches away from the dunes - a burr got stuck in her paw and it took us a solid hour to get out.

Best beach camp we did in Texas. Cleaner and less traffic then South Padre or Boca Chica. A few spots to get off the beach and into a bit of protection. Water this time of year is chilly but we swam everyday anyways. Lots of day use but gets tranquil after dusk. Not much drift wood to burn. Highly suggest picking up seafood in Corpus Christi. Bay shrimp and oysters were delicious!
