Terrifying CREEPER for SEVEN hours around my site. I came here two weeks earlier with my sister, but we missed the fall colors. I returned solo for the weekend of 10/13, at 11pm I heard noises at my site. Not thinking of it, I tried going to sleep. It would stop for an hour and start back, never really ending until 5:30am when I heard the person walk away and shut a door. I was stalked and watched for about seven hours. I filed a police report today, weeks later and was told; if anyone here experiences this call the local police department so they can have someone come out and investigate. I was parked in the second site. I did notice the class C in the 3rd site was there from my previous visit. Potentially lives there and likely the one who stalked me.
Report Check-InPretty area, easy on and off the highway. Pretty full when I got there so I had to travel the road to find a spot. Be careful if you’re camping outside of one of the official spots, this area also has pockets of LAWD owned land and it isn’t clear exactly whose land you’re on once you leave the main road. The creek and meadow made for a beautiful sunrise, will definitely be visiting again.
Report Check-InNice quiet area away from the highway. Surrounded by aspens. There's a few options down this road, I stayed at the 2nd site. Verizon signal was in and out during my stay.
Report Check-InDope, quite spot nestled against the apsens, very quite beside the hum of the highway a mile or two away.
Report Check-InNo camp fires are allowed, dog friendly but there is cows roaming. Overall beautiful spot with multiple spots spread out. Was pretty full when we stayed for one night.
Report Check-InSeveral nice campsites in a lovely Aspen grove along a dirt road off of Sherwin Creek Road towards the airport. The dirt road is narrow and a little rough, but 4WD and high clearance aren’t a must, just go slow. Beautiful sunrise views over the lake and mountains.
Report Check-InDusty but beautiful. A few campers were here, probably locals since it was during the weekend. It was quite dry as it was in the summer so I am not sure if there was water in the creeks nearby but I did not search for it.
Report Check-InNot recommended with RV. We made scratches all over the RV. Road is too tight.
Report Check-InSome nice spots far away from the highway. Nice and quiet. Lots of hot springs nearby. In a freezing cold day, you can just see them steaming from far away!
Report Check-InAwesome location. Super quiet well away from the highway. Couple of minutes from US 395. Highly recommended!
Report Check-InA couple of free campsites and a nice little creek.
