I concur with all the positive comments. A great place to stop or stay a few days with excellent hosts, Hannes and Ansie. Well done!!
Report Check-InSeriously, well managed and amazing gardens. owners are friendly and extremely helpfull. Campsites are a little away from the river front.
Report Check-InAbsolutly amazing!!!! Owners Hannes and Ansie have built an incredible oasis along the River!!!!
I cycled in, the road has been much improved, gravel added so won’t get bogged down in sand if on a bicycle.
Entering the gate, an abundance of green and gardens. Definite pride of ownership. Kindest owners ever!!!
I tented, had private abulition, wifi, $180/night. I stayed 2 nights, this Rest Camp is a calming gift from the owners.
Also has 4 chalets and 6 campsites.
This is a must stay at!!! Incredible!!!
Once again we spent a night at Makuku and again we were received like old friends. Lovely campsite and we can recommend a stay here. All the facilities are excellent except wifi reception is very poor, a problem in Namibia lately.
Report Check-Inwonderful chalets on stilts overlooking the river, best campsite so far in Namibia. Fritz wonderful host + Abraham cooked us a great dinner, you can opt for self-catering or take some meals in the cosy restaurant: awesome experience
Report Check-InFantastic camp. Lots of garden, shade, own ablutions. Restaurant but book early. Bar and wifi. Lovely owners. Worth more than one night.
Report Check-InAs quaint, friendly and peaceful as previously described. At least two campsites have private ablutions, braai, power and one has a sink/scullery area. Work is underway to complete another riverfront chalet but this does not detract from the general ambience.
Camp peacocks make a change from the usual camp dogs!
Communal sitting area, pool and honesty bar look out over the river into Angola.
N$180pppn camping with own vehicle.
Report Check-InOasis in every sense of the word. What makes this place stand out is the ownership. Helped us out when we got bogged down in the sand on approach (on bicycles). For reference the hike a bike is less than 1 km advanced riders can ride it. Running low on groceries after we decided to stay for two nights. We did not say a word about running low, and yet chocolate lava brownie ice cream was waiting for us as desert after dinner on our second night. Unreasonable hospitality. Also liked the fair prices it is still 150 pppn for camping (also reasonable prices at the bar). Nothing but kind words to say, can recommend this place highly to other travelers passing through.
Report Check-InMany reviews about this lovely campsite. Just updating the GPS location. Follow signposts.
Report Check-InBeautiful place with friendly and helpful owners. We got valuable information for our onward journey to botswana
Report Check-InWe loved this place. Amazing value for money for such a charming spot, with very kind and thoughtful owners. A grey headed kingfisher likes to sit in the tree above the pitch. Hannes helped to entertain our two little boys - letting them ride on the tractor mower and feed his pet parrot. N150 per person and the kids were free. We had an enjoyable boat trip with Hannes helping us to identify lots of birds.
Report Check-Inwhat a beautiful place. very nice place to camping with awesome manager
Report Check-InThis is our second time at this great campsite. Great facilities in a fabulous garden. They also have beautiful chalets, all reasonably priced.
Hosts Ansie and Hannes are absolutely lovely.
Highly recommend.
We loved this place! The garden is wonderful. The pool is refreshing and the bathrooms and the kitchen is perfect and clean. The hosts are very, very friendly.
They have bushbabys which come out at night. So cute 😊.
Camping 150 N$ per person.
Green campsite with a bit of a hippie feeling. We stayed on the site with a private ablution and Hannes arranged at extension cable for us, to run our fridge. Very friendly owners! There is a nice terrace with view over the river. Campsite has no river view though. There is a small swimming pool to cool down. We did a boat tour with an other couple and payed 500$N in total. Camping is 150$N.
Report Check-InGorgeous place, very clam and relaxed environment with very friendly owners. We came here to camp for 1 night but ended up staying for 2 nights.
The price for camping is NAM $150 pppn. Everything is as stated before about the chalets and camping facilities.
Report Check-InGreat place, amazing owners. If we had more time, we would have stayed longer. 150 pppn.
If there has been heavy rain (100 mm in last 24h) you need 4x4.
Facilities as described by others 5 star the owners Hannes and Ansie extremely hospitable and very proud of their lush gardens. We did not pre book and had planned to stay 2 nights but were so happy we we stayed for 3 nights. We highly recommend the boat ride with Hannes at the helm for keen birders and just to be on the river. The Kavango is high due to the great rains that they have had this year. We will definitely be back and will not stay anywhere else in this part of the country. Worth every penny.
Report Check-InNice campsite, very peaceful. Friendly owners. We were on a campsite with private ablutions. They seem to extend the campsite and are almost done with the new, communal ablutions and everything looked very clean. Nice river view from the deck with bar. Lots of shade on the campsites. Small pool, wasn't very clean when we were there.
Report Check-Inwonderful camp, nice facilities, lush and green...good sized sites and nice chalets
Report Check-InVery nice campsite, but difficult access for cyclists because of the sandy access road (3km).
Report Check-InA paradise after a five weeks of a very dusty/dry Namibia. We came for one night and stayed for three. The campsite is a beautiful garden with grass at all pitches and colourful birds everywhere. Lovely, shady and next to the river. Nice bar and pool area. Always had a warm shower. Good WiFi (was able to video call Europe) and extremely attentive owners. The little chalet is also beautiful. We were offered to use the chalet bathroom. Great place on the river for recharging and relaxing. They also offer fishing and boat trips for wildlife spotting. $120 pppn
Report Check-InThis is a gorgeous spot on the river, beautiful grassy places to camp great facilities. Super quiet and great hosts. We loved it here wish we could have stayed longer. All other info is still accurate with one update, the wifi has been extended to the bar/deck area and reaches the campsite. A very special place!

reachable off the B8/D3402, well signposted. The access road leads quite a while around a big fenced plot, they battle for a direct access.
WiFi slow and MTC Network not very strong.
