Latest Check-Ins

A great campsite. Nice private spots, well laid out and each site with it's own table/bench, bin, braai and plug point. The ablution & kitchen facilities were nice and clean. Beware of the vervet monkeys, they will raid you on a daily basis.

Report Check-In

Regarding the entry 27.02.2018: Big rigs are allowed to camp here, no problem at all. They are not allowed into the Valley of Desolation, as the roads are too small.

Report Check-In

Campsites not to close to the next one.
Kitchen well equipped with kettle, microwave, big freezer, electric stove.
Everything clean.
We did a 2 hours drive to the Game Viewing Area, saw some zebras, oryx, ostriches. Lot of wildebeest, springbok, hartebeest.
For bigger trucks it's not allowed to drive to the Valley of Desolation.

Report Check-In

Nice QUIT campsite, clean ablutions, very well maintained. It’s ZAR 285,- per stand plus ZAR 140,- park entrance per day. Park is nice, but not special. Saw antilopes and buffaloes. Enjoyed the place.

Report Check-In

Large gravel campsites, with well-water points scattered about and power points at sites. There is a table and a Braai at each campsite.
There are toilets and a small camp kitchen with hot water. The water is brackish and makes for bad coffee

A nice lookout over the plains and electric fencing around the entire compound to keep animals out.

The one bad thing is the constant highway noise.

Report Check-In

Excellent campsite amongst the thorn trees. Good sites with brai, table/seats and bin. Very clean. We managed to pick a site with afternoon and morning shade. Clean and we'll equipped amenities. No problems with monkeys.

Report Check-In

The campsite is in the National Park which carries a range of game species. This includes Vervet monkeys which are known to often be a nuisance stealing any food they can access from open or unguarded tents or vehicles. There is only limited shade available at the stands from the acacia thorn trees. The ablutions are inclined to be raided by the monkeys looking for water in the dry, hot summer months if any door or window in the building is left open. If this happens the results are not pleasant - you will know the monkeys have been inside!

Report Check-In

We wanted to stay there but big rigs cannot enter the campsite.
