The road is just stunning. At this time of the year this salar is almost dry and there is just a few flamingos, but we couldn't say it's ugly...

We really don't agree with the last comment. We had a great time driving to Paso Jama, the landscapes are amazing!
And about this salar sure when it's dry it's less impressive, but still a nice place!

absolutely boring, salar ugly, no flamingos either and it wasnt just us, there was a tour bus and all people were happy to see one bunny as otherwise it is nothing.

this last stretch of the road in Chile and from Jama almost to Purmamarca is absolutely boring.

from laguna negra towards the west it slowly picks up and some views are great but certainly looses against Paso San Francisco.

We had lunch here, just spectacular, would love to eat there everyday. Lot of flamingo too. We went walking but the water after lunch and could see the flamingos closer !
Just loved it. Stop everywhere you can and want the road is breathtaking

Hight and GPS data are wrong, view is superb, as is wind. You find your place. Worth a break, we had
breakfast. Awesome!

Awesome lookout just off the highway with a slightly hidden lake stocked full of flamingos!!!
