this is a different hotel than the al-hussein hotel already mentioned. They share the same business card.
After cycling into Assiut with police escort, we had to find a hotel. We had two requirements: below 400 EGP and there should be a safe place for our bicycles. After seeing 5 hotels (some too expensive and all no place to store bicycle safely inside) the police were getting a bit annoyed. Luckily we stumbled upon this hotel (el-shaheed Mohamad Ali Makarm street) which had a double for 250 egp on the third floor and a larger one with one king size bed for 280 egp on the second floor. We chose the latter, which had more than enough space for 10 bicycles if needed, a refrigerator and a private bathroom with hot water. No elevator, so you have to carry your bicycle to your room. They were also OK with leaving the bicycles in the lobby

Arrived yesterday after a long ride from Minya. We have a nice double room with twin beds, fridge, decent a/c and a great shower. Bicycles inside the room. Costs us 500egp for 2 nights.
