As described. Nice little campground. Large pretty flat spots. Plenty of trash cans and pit toilets. The train is VERY close by. Should be a lovely sunset, not crowded on this Sat in Dec. The road in wasn't bad, a few washboard spots but made it easily in our 25 ft. Winnebago View. I'll post an update if the trains are an issue tonight, we don't mind a couple. one is going by right now and it's a slow moving loooooong one! 4pm.

Great spot easy access. Good visibility. Felt safe as a solo woman.

Did not find the first spot on the map so we ended up here. Road was doable with our van but I would not do it again. Site are nice and clean but it was smelling like swamp. The train passes 3 times during the night.

Great little BLM campground within the boundaries of Mojave Trails National Monument. Pit toilets and potable water. Each site has a covered picnic table and fire pit. 4 mile access road is 2WD friendly but very washboardy. Main line of the UPRR comes right through Afton Canyon. WB trains can be heard for a while before passing the CG. About 15-20 trains in 24 hour period.

I have visited here several times. The road is never in good shape but passable, probably even in a passenger sedan. Place looked a little trashy this time. It was about half full on a Saturday night, which surprised me some. (Mostly the ATV crowd). I still recommended as in interesting spot with the river and the Hills

Stayed here a few times. It’s a good stop off spot traveling from the Bay Area to Utah or Az.
Never seems to be many people here. No water. Bring your own.

A little terrifying driving to this spot when it’s dark, but it ended up being a nice place to stay the night. There’s a train track like 500 feet away though, and it came by maybe 4 times at night very loudly, and there were some very angry bees, but besides those two things, I liked it.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stop and take a rest if you’re coming down from the east
Of Mojave. I only stopped for bathroom break.

This BLM campsite is 4 miles off of I-15 on a diet road. There is one spot where the road is very deep in sand. Other than that it is decent spot.

Report Check-In

Great first night of boondocking for me and my family. Beware of the trains as there were a few through the night. Didn’t find the tap as mentioned in previous post.

Great place, quiet, clean restrooms . With annual pass only 3 dollar

Report Check-In

Great little campsite with lots of spots, only 2 other people were here. Covered picnic table which was nice since it was raining when we got here. Right on the train tracks so our son LOVED it but may not be for everyone. $6.00/night to stay here.
