Nice an quiet place if you drive a bit away from the so called Diesel platform, which is used by local diesel supplier for the big fisher boats on the see(translated with a huge fantasy by some adventure overlanders as Diesel action or smuggler) we talked to those people who worke at night and bring diesel to big fisher ships on the see. At the time others saw them, they had problems with lights and were working in the dark! They apologies for disturbing us and offer us Chia from the truck and we thanked them. Those people should be respected and not translated as smugglers. We spent three nights there.

Report Check-In

We arrived and the sand was full of diesel. It was not possible to stay, because diesel is everywhere in the air. There was fresh traces of trucks in the sand so maybe the „diesel-action“ is now every night… we drove further and slept at the salt cave.

Very quiet with the sweet melody of the sea, access by an easy track in dry weather, few flat places.

Nice spot on the beach with lagoon. Great place to go for a swim during high tide, with low tide a bit more difficult to access the water.

2 cars came while we were here to have a beach walk and picnic. All very kind. The night began quiet but between 22 and 1 o'clock 15-20 of those smaller trucks (with big tanks on the back) came to the beach and we also heard boats. So I crawled out of the rooftop tent to see what was happening. I shook some of their hands and with the 3 words of English they spoke they said it had something to do with water. However, we think it was fuel smuggle as there was a very strong diesel smell for 3 hours. The whole ordeal made is feel very uncomfortable as it was all happening in the dark and the trucks were driving without lights and it seems they didn't have license plates either (but this was difficult to see in the dark). They didn't bother us but we were quite cautious and a bit anxious. When we finally fell asleep again around 2 AM, 2 trucks came back. That's when we decided to pack our stuff and leave to another spot.

Many foxes around, they are not scared at all and you can observe them from quite close at dusk.

No internet on the beach but when I climbed the rocks towards the road I had decent 4G.

Very good place to camp, go swimming, make fire and relax. We parked next to the beach. On Friday only one other family came here. In the evening we saw dolphins. So far our favourite place on the island.
