Description

We asked the police and the locals both told us that it was ok to park here. Everyone told us it was secure, but we know we are at our own risk.
Lovely view of the lake. This is a flat spot on the street before the dock.

Free public spot next to the embarcadere. We stayed there for 2 nights. Quiet. We left the van all morning to go to the San Pedro volcano. We went there in tuk tuk (15q / p). No problem, there is always passage. To access the spot, we pass narrow streets but we passed without problem. Beautiful view on Lake Atitlan.

Report Check-In

This is no longer really a feasible option. Grassy area belongs to a newly built restaurant and is now walled and gated off. I managed three nights alongside the wall near the dock, then the police came and said it wasn't permitted (and threatened to clamp me if I didn't move right away!) - attempt at your own risk! Boondocking is non-trivial around the lake, outside of Panajachel..

Report Check-In

Quiet and safe spot in front of the lake. We’ve stayed here 1 night in the “Parking lot” on the right as you drove down. You can grab a tuk tuk in the morning to take you to the entrance of the Volcán San Pedro for Q10 pp from here.

Report Check-In

This is a really quiet and safe place, even if you never know, we always felt safe and there’s always somebody around. We stayed 4 nights. We had a great wifi from Elevate (we had a beer there). We hiked San Pedro with a guide (agency, 135q per person) at 4 am because it doesn’t look safe to go alone ;(
