Something not right?

Description

Unsure about the name. It might be Bahrdhr Hotel.

Quite big complex with some 20 rooms. The rooms are clean and there’re long drop toilets and (non heated) showers on the premises. Beds are alright and they do have a generator that gives electricity. Walls with barb wire run around the hotel.

They sell water and beer and can cook you up some food (most probably traditional Ethiopian food) if you ask them. Nearby, on the main road, there are a few bars and one of them serves a quite good pasta! Look for flashing lights.

Payed 300 Birr for a double room. Guy at the border told us it should be slightly less.

Totally okay place to sleep when waiting to do border crossing.

Latest Check-Ins

There are two separate hotels here. Firewhot and Bahir Dar 2. They are right next to each other and are similar so if one is occupied just go around the corner to other and hopefully you can grab a room there. If both are full, try to see if you can pitch a tent on either roof top or just sleep on the roof top. Firewhot offered me this option but I ended up getting a room in Bahir Dar 2 for 300 Birr.

Nice, clean place with soft beds and WiFi. Recommend a stay here. Nice patio and we paid 200 for a night for a room with shared bathroom.

Very nice and friendly pension. Host was superb and willing to assist in any way. No English spoken and no wifi. At 200 birr
There's little to complain about.

Report Check-In

Much as described.

300 birr for double room even though I was alone.

It’s not on Main Street, so you have to ask where it is.

If you need fuel/forex, ask owner as she clearly knew the guy who helped me out.

Name should be Firewhot Hotel or similar. Description is accurate and true as of 25th April 2019. Paid 800 birr for double room, dinner and lunch. Probably got ripped off a bit but couldn't be bothered to argue. Staff was very nice and helpful so didn't mind paying a bit more.
