Description

Great spot to park campervans and potentially smaller RV's for a short period of time. Road cuts between park, free parking both sides just keep an eye out for street cleaning (may have to switch sides of the street). Just a few blocks from subway that can take you directly to Manhattan. Cool neighborhood, Statbucks nearby for restrooms and lots of great bars, restaurants, and coffee shops near by.

Latest Check-Ins

stayed here for a few nights, no issues and toilet in the park.

Report Check-In

We spent almost three weeks on bedford ave. Such a convenient location with the subway nearby and a bathroom in the park. We felt really safe and the noise wasn't an issue either. Just had to switch sides every few days for the street cleaning, but finding a free spot was never an issue. There are trees lining the street, but a few areas with direct sunlight - important for those with solar.

we were parked on Bedford street, on the other side of this park. really a very good place, quiet at night, a bit noisy on Saturday evening until 9pm.
toilets, mini-market and something to eat nearby.
we stayed there for 4 nights with our two cats in the van. during the day we even left a small window with mosquito net open and had no problem. safe place!

We parked on Lorimer St, for 6 straight nights, moving the van to the correct side of the street around 3:30am because there are lots of spots after the allotted cleaning time. Here cleaning is 12am-3am on the usual days. The lights do not turn off at all on the field and there is some traffic throughout the night of people speeding by but we felt very safe. The G is a short walk away and is an easy way into Manhattan. Overall awesome spot, would absolutely stay here again.
p.s. if you like soccer, somehow there are games with actual referees going every day of the week seemingly all day to watch

Nice place to sleep for the night. We slept in our SUV camper build on a Saturday night. There was spaces even on a long weekend. Free parking. Left our car there all day while we took the subway (7 min walk) around NYC. Watch out for the street cleaning though. It doesn’t happen on weekends but on weekdays I believe the sign on one side of the street said “Monday-Thurs midnight-3am” and “Tues-Friday” on the other side of the street for I’m assuming another time period. Lovely park with washrooms. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed on Driggs Ave for a night without an issue. I found parking right away & saw quite a few open spots whenever I was walking around. Great spot & would totally stay here again!

Report Check-In

Stayed three nights no problem. Pretty quiet at night, lots of activity during the day. It looked like the formal restrooms were closed for renovation but there were some port-a-potty’s to use (bring your own TP and hand sanitizer!)

Mccaren Park street parking... bathrooms in the park but only open odd hours of the day. Garbage and recycling. As others have stated make sure to read the street signs and park on the correct side according to the day. Traffic most of the day but can beat a free safe place to park while visiting NY. Just a short 5-10 min walk to the metro that will take you across the water to Manhattan or rent a bike. We moved several times chasing the sun. Stayed 4 nights and were not bothered once... we did keep it pretty stealth.

We parked in Bedford Avenue and had a hot, but quiet night. The AC of the highschool didn't work at night.

Super endroit pour stationner et visiter New York, on y a passé 5 jours. Le métro est à 5 minutes à pied, on peut utiliser les toilettes et l'eau dans le parc à côté. C'est un peu bruyant car en bord de route.

Came in on a Friday night and found plenty of places to park with my truck camper. I opted for the Bedford Ave. side of the park, as it seemed a little quieter. Very nice area. There's a nice little shop on the corner of Bedford and 12th
that sells some groceries, sandwiches, and such. Very convenient! The buses going by at night made my rig shake, but no other issues. Very pleasant area and park.
