Wow there is no lake or boat ramp anymore. The lake is down over 100’ since 2019 and the boat ramp is actually a road to a bridge over the creek that was completely submerged and you did not know it was there!

I am camped tonight on what was the lake bed 3 years ago. A paved road was also on the lake bottom that now runs beside the creek. Really highlights the California water shortage situation.

We parked on gravel next to boat ramp and enjoyed the lake for the day. We need internet to work and weren’t able to pull any data. We have a WeBoost with a Mofi modem. We were able to get full bars on several AT&T bands but none of them had any data. Unfortunately we had to move to find

While the campground is still closed, there were 4 of us campers and vans parked at the campground turnoff last night on a Saturday. There are 2 trash cans to clean up if you see anything and 3 port-a-potties. We had 2 trains go by before midnight and 1 around 8am. Very cool and lovely views of the creek. No issues.

Pretty spot. Just noting that, in the off season, the campsite itself is locked and you can’t drive in. There is enough parking for maybe two rigs outside.

Report Check-In

Out on gravel mound by boat ramp. One other camper with trailer and tent a few hundred feet away. Very quiet and peaceful, no trains on bridge yet in last 2 hours. Forest fires still smoldering about 30 miles north with 2 inches snow on the ground.

Report Check-In

As described. I found a large gravel pad, quite level and spacious. The train is elevated so not as loud as it could be at the same level. But the track tressel makes for awesome reflections in the still lake water. And also adds some added foreground interest in sunset pictures. I was alone there. I got AT&T 4G signal, but no lte which lead to intolerable buffering while streaming videos. While picking up others trash before leaving I saw a Ranger drive in, turn around and leave. Slept great, highly recommended in off season for the cheapskates like me.

We had a great night - loved the train - will be editing and adding pictures shortly

Stayed here for a night. Quiet in the rain. Only the train is very loud. Passes by three times during the night. We parked in front of the gate of the campsite with another camper. Dead end road so no through traffic.
