Like previous comments. Just amazing place. Price 580 NAD for 3 persons and one car Dec 2023.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot in the middle of nowhere. Can be very windy but has some sheltered braai pits.

As previously stated, one of the most remote and "wild-like" campings we encountered. We checked out Homeb camping before. Despite the proximity of Homeb to the big dunes, we liked Mirabib much more. There is no civilization around here and you have wonderful views. If you stay at the last campspot facing South you can spot the dunes far away and there are fire pits under the big rock providing an amazing atmosphere. Got the permit at the wildlife office in Swakopmund (nobody around to check at the campsite). 100 NAD pp for SADC, 150 NAD pp for non-SADC. 80 NAD for the camping (1x fee for whole group).

Beautiful campsite, one thousand time better than southern Homeb campsite. Still very corrugated road, zebra pan road is in way better conditions. Lot of trash flying around because of full bins, its a shame. Better take your garbage with you. Even burning it is a way better idea than leaving it there, expecting NWR to clean the place for us...

Sevaral top campsites around Mirabib hill with an endless view across the Namib Desert. Remote and quiet, we were alone there for 2 days. Permit required but nobody checked. You get the permit in Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Windhoek or Sesriem. Edge MTC-Signal.

We came from Rock Arch (where we camped the previous night) and wanted to camp at either Mirabib or Homeb. We 1st checked out Mirabib, and were very impressed. Then we decided to drive to Homeb. The scenery enroute was simply out of this world. Absolutely breathtaking! Arriving at Homeb, we noticed the settlement which is just 300m away, and decided to go back to Mirabib. We chose the camping spot, 1st turn off at the rocks, turn left, drive up the little hill, the 1st camping spot on the left. Here we could enjoy enough shade in the afternoon, and enjoy both sunset and sunrise, stunning views. There were only 2 other vehicles that night. Absolute quietness.

It’s like spitzkoppe just smaller and less crowdy. Hope it will remain like this.

It was only me.

The road to the camp is a bit corrogated but doable. It's pretty much wildcamping(only a view longdrops) but we loved it! Beautiful scenery and we camped underneed an overhanging rock. If you are in the area go for it!

Report Check-In

beautifull desert and rock view, we really felt alone in the world. almost no shade except a few rocks, could be very hot during summer, beware of the very corrugated road, use the side tracks. price is still 170 NAD (permit : 2pers x 40 + 10veh, camping : 2 pers x 40)

Prince ist still the same. very nice place with lots of space.

Great camp in the middle of the desert. Several spots with longdrops around a large rock. Stunning views from the top of the rock. We got our permit in Swakopmund and paid 170 N$ for the entrance fees including camping for two adults. The road to the camp is not great but not much worse than the main road. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Fantastic setting in the desert around a huge rock. The 30 km to the campsite is very rough and not really suitable for a 2 WD, but we made it any way and were happy.

Report Check-In

Wow!! No facilities except long-drop and fireplace but what a stunning campsite!

Report Check-In

Beautiful campsite (feels more like wild camping); indeed no facilities so make sure to bring enough water and w/food. Lots of stars at night! According to the Lonely Planet, these shelters were used by nomadic people as early as 9000 years ago.

Report Check-In

Beautiful location at a kopje in the desert, long drop toilets and braai areas, pitches not visible from each other, we climbed the rocks and saw a large caracal on top and enjoyed the views of the surrounding, 80N$ (5€) for two and 90N$ for park entry and vehicle

Report Check-In

Four sites around standalone hill of rocks in Namib-Naukluft N.P. overlooking the flat desert. Pitches are far apart and not visible between each other giving a wild camping feeling. Beautiful environment, very limited facilities. A permit must be obtained for entering the park and for camping.
NAD 80 (2 adults, camper).
