Something not right?

Description

East and Westbound rest areas just west of Joshua Tree.

Facilities are older. Adequate space to walk a dog. Decent view of the mountains. Highway noise. Water fountains and unthreaded spigot available. Mix of well-lit and darker corners to park.

easy overnight. very dirty bathrooms. extremely windy, but with the wind, you can't hear the highway noise! well lit at night.

Report Check-In

Was planning on spending the night but they were closed off :/ not sure for how long

Report Check-In

Restrooms were typical of older rest area facilities. Not as bad as some report. Darker and well lit areas available. Not well signed coming off the freeway so use GPS.

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night, wasn't bothered. Bathrooms were awful but functional with no soap

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 1 night. No problems. Very windy though!

Report Check-In

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Palm Springs. Beside the freeway noise we had a quiet night. They clean the restrooms often. People just forget how to flush a toilet. (Use the paddle near your right feet to flush!!)

Report Check-In

Great spot for a night. The bathrooms were spotless when I was there, and it wasn't too noisy aside from the nice highway white noise. However it was insanely windy. This might be common, judging from the wind farm a few miles east!

On the west bound side. Decent place to get some 💤

Freeway hum…

Report Check-In

Yes my husband says restrooms are atrocious here. We saw a cleaning crew around 8:30am, when we left, but perhaps they cannot keep up? There’s overflowing trash everywhere. Though the area for truckers seemed a lot cleaner. They also have several recycling bins which were helpful to us. Busy throughout the entire night. Some keep their cars running the entire time they are there. We got in around 11 pm but constant noise throughout the night. It’s the weekend so…. Good for one night and nice view of the mounts to wake up to.

Report Check-In

It wasn’t very busy last night. Plenty of good spots to choose from. Freeway noise not too bad. Nice view of the mountains.

Report Check-In

nice little place for an overnight stay. great view of the mountains in the background

Report Check-In

Stayed in the Westbound stop. Very quite, far from the trucks, and not many lights in the back parking lot. 3.5 stars because the bathrooms were really bad, no soap and only hand dryers which were broken in the men's room.

Report Check-In

Restful night with beautiful mountain backdrop. Freeway noise like a lullaby.

Report Check-In

Fine to sleep for the night. Relatively quiet for being next to the interstate. Worst restrooms at any rest area I’ve been to in the country. Toilet paper on traffic cones. Half an inch of standing water on the floor. No soap or paper towels. Yikes.

Report Check-In

Nice enough place to stay the night. We’re in an RV and possibly the only ones but had no bothers. Fairly quiet for a hwy actually. Super windy falling asleep. Cleaners and gardeners were there in the morning and didn’t question us

Report Check-In

East and West bound rest areas just west of Joshua tree. Well lit but the bathrooms are pretty rough. Adequate space to walk a dog. Decent view of the mountains. Not bad for a free place to stay in our camper for the night. I’m not sure you could pitch a tent anywhere tho.
