Free municipal campground on the outskirts of Konya. It even has electrical hookups and water at each parking spot. Bathrooms and shower were surprisingly clean for a free campground. It is near a mean highway so there is some traffic noise at night but not bad.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
don't come with a tent! it's not allowed anymore. they only let me camp one night, because I legit started crying like a baby, after a long exhausting day of headwind and dog attacks.
Report Check-InGreat place and agree with what's said before. Showers were hot. We couldn't even complain about the bbq smoke, as we got fried chicken and fruit through the fence. Turkish hospitality!
Report Check-Invery nice free Campsite, directly in the City.A Park is next Door.showers and Toilette are clean.stayed for one nicht, great Spot.
Report Check-InReally nice place to stay , Free and all facilities are here , we enjoyed a lot
Report Check-InCouldn’t get the shower to get hot, but might have been me.
Mevlana’s dervishes swirl on Saturday nights only these days. Just so you know.
Clean and tidy municipal parking with electric, non potable water and grey water dump. No charge for first 2 nights. Toilet and shower block is clean and well maintained.
The actual GPS location is 37.869738 32.550268
Other descriptions are accurate.
Google maps takes you to a dead-end road 100m away, so go off the map and look for the entrance to the park
Open during this Covid period, as was the park next door and free zoo.
Nice place to stay, 5 nights, No one else there. Free with elektricity and water...little cold end november, already freezing
Report Check-InGreat place for staying. Toilets, water, security and warm shower. This place is for free, you just have to register yourself with security but they are very friendly and helpful :) We stayed two nights with tent and motorbike. During the day we left our bags in the tent and went explore Konya - everything was safe :) highly recommended :)
Report Check-InGreat place for free. The older descriptions fit 100%. Hot showers, clean facilities, lots of space, road nearby but not too loud, we could sleep. Passports registered but no payment asked. Pitched our tent near the park to be away from the road. Set it up at the parking lot (pushed the nails between the stones - working! Electricity also available. Very nice!
Report Check-Instill as described.
free, registration with passport. electricity + water at the parking, toilets and hot shower, central picknick place with table + roof.
next to main street, little noisy but good place to stay.
High-quality parking space in a convenient location in Konya, next to the city park with amusement park. Heavy traffic noise. Water at the place. Everything works well, like the whole city. You are allowed to stand for a maximum of three days.
Report Check-InFree campsite. Showers, toilets, water and power. Amenities are clean. Place to picknick, near busy road. Can get noisy.
Report Check-InI agree with the previous overlanders. However if you want to sleep in a tent be aware of the automatic irrigation system. Ask guards to turn it off (via Google Translator) if you don't want to wake up in the middle of a pond with all your stuff wet - like us.
Report Check-Inexcellent free motorhome park. Electric hook up, good hot shower in look block. All free. Entrance is at Kara Park, directly off dual carriageway, not down side road by hay market.
Report Check-InProvide free of charge by the city council, fenced and overlooked from the park entrance gate; free lectricity, water, toilets and showers … but very noise all night due to nearby main road. Towards the centre, we saw some open areas, where staying for one night might also be possible (e.g. Sports and Culture Centre) and quieter … but no facilities.
Report Check-Infree caravan parking. just register at the warden. water tap and elictricity on site.
Report Check-InConform to the description of the previous overlanders.
The entrance of the caravan park is just before the main gate of the recreational park, a green gate on the left just before the guard office.
Just ask the guard to open the gate, and register with your passport.
On the opposite side of the roundabout, there is a direct tramway to the historical city center. There is also a supermarket Gross.
In the recreational park, there is an amazing children playground.
Slightly noisy at night due to the speedway just behind, but no dog and the muezzin is quite far.
A very good place to visit the city in security and having a free hot shower.
Hot showers !!!! this place really holds the concept of the old caravanserai : free and with all basic amenities. They also have 2 open but covered gazebos in the center of lot. It was raining but we could have dinner underneath.
Report Check-InMunicipal area for campers. Just need to ask at the park gate and they will open it up. Well laid out. Free electricity and clean toilets. A bit noisy as near main road but it's free so whose to complain. Decent spot for a night.
Report Check-InFree caravan parking site with toilet, tap and electricity charging port. Just need to register with guard at the check post. Pitched my tent at the grass patch.
