Namibia
Nice rustic campsite close to all the attraction. Better value than others nearby. Basic bush ablutions but clean.
Now N$150pppn (Dec 2018).
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
we had a great time at the campsite although we had no running water all night and morning. apparently it's solar driven and it was a cloudy day before so it just wasn't working.
however staff is very nice they set up for us the most beautiful 3 course dinner for just the two of us as we were the only guests eating in for 200pp. definitely hike up the little mountain for sunset. best view we have had.
We enjoyed our stay at the camp. It's all pretty basic, but also it seems the cheapest of the few around. The staff is friendly and quite pro-active. The view is lovely and far enough away from the road (although the road is really quiet anyway). They sell fire wood.
Needed a mechanic and they called someone to come to us. The mechanics charged 700 call out fee + kms so if you can still drive better to go to them 😉. They are from the Twyfelfontein lodge.
Report Check-InVery nice Campsite, hot showers, friendly staff. Even big overland trucks can camp here. Campsites fully even to camp - all next to Aba Huab River. Price p.P. 180.-. We can highly recommend.
Report Check-Inthey bargain the price. dont pay 180. In the end we payed 140 pp. you probably can get lower. Nicht campsite. nearly no power at the campsite itself.
Report Check-InWe pulled in here because the setting amongst the rocky mountains was beautiful, were warmly welcomed, had to insist on $N150 when he tried for 180. The camping sites were virtually unlimited, ablutions basic outdoor variety but clean and mostly functioning. There is electricity at one site which is solar/distant generator but you have to specifically ask for it. They brought firewood for us at no additional charge and fired up the donkey in the morning for warm showers. We loved the desert setting, all good.
Report Check-InThis place had so much potential, what a shame it isn't being properly maintained and managed.
We looked at the campsite, looked good except that the toilets were all broken (seat/cistern/door/pipes) and/or filthy. They are now asking N$150 pppn. We told the manager that we were not happy paying such a high price given the state of the toilets. She was more interested in her nails and phone, and really didn't care. So we left to find a campsite where the staff actually want our custom!
Best community campsite I have been at. Watch out for snakes. This is wild country
Report Check-InBasic but nice and friendly camp! Everything is clean! We didn’t have to pay for our kids
Report Check-InClean but very basic campsite, 120NAD per person, big rig friendly, some site have a sink, none have electricity, most sites have some shade. Due to no electric the night sky was amazing. A good option for this area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Though near road it's very quite as you are tucked behind rock formations. Elephants visit the camp along the river bed.
Report Check-InTucked between some hills and along the Abahiab River, sites are basic with fire pits. Water nearby if not in your camp, and the water tastes DELICIOUS! Open air toilets and showers. Restaurant on site, but did not use. Garbage picked up by staff more than once a day at bins. Very clean! Quiet. N$120pppn
Report Check-InLarge area near riviere, abolutions are very simple but working, no electricity at sites, generator stops at 9pm so everyrhing is really dark and you can see lors of stars. Now 120 ppn
