Description

Great, peaceful place to camp in town! Large property bordered on 3 sides by creek & trees. Very quiet at night. Family owned, very friendly. Diego speaks great English and he and his brother do horseback riding tours every day. Very nice terraced lawn for tents surrounded by a stream, trees, and lots of birds. Multiple flat areas that can accommodate 4+ medium to large sized rigs. Power hookup possible; you may need a longer extension depending where you park. Horse stables on the property; horses go elsewhere to pasture at night. Good, but rustic kitchen setup. No fridge. Hand wash laundry facilities. Very clean washrooms and hot showers! 20,000 cop per person. Also have doorm rooms (unsure of price).

If no one is there, they’re off on horseback riding tours, so just set yourself up and you’ll see them eventually.

5-10 minute walk to main part of town. We enjoyed our stay very much here.

Latest Check-Ins

As described, friendly people, well kept place, peaceful.

Report Check-In

We spent five nights here and had good and quiet nights. The bathrooms are clean and the location close to town center. A little pricey with COP 25000 pppn. But we were also able to park our camper for free for one night when we went on an overnight trekking.
However, when we left we wanted to fill up our water tank and we had to pay an extra 10000 for it. Which never happened at any other campground we have stayed at in the past.

Report Check-In

Es un camping muy lindo, con todos los servicios agua, baños, ducha caliente, electricidad por 25.000 cop x persona. Tiene paseos a caballo que pueden contratar aparte.💕🌿☀️🇨🇴

Report Check-In

We’ve been here 1 night with our tent, super recommended place. Clean showers and kitchen 👍🏼 The hosts are really nice

Report Check-In

As described. Regular camping with the basics. We do recommend.

Report Check-In

20.000 pp/n - we stayed on the little grassy area next to the bathrooms. Not super level, but okay and no mud!

Quiet, safe and walking distance to main plaza.

Report Check-In

Still 20.000COL pppn. A bit expensive, but really good place to leave your car and explore Salento and the surroundings, because you can easily walk to the center and get jeeps to everywhere there (marked it as a tourist attraction).

Showers are hot, when you open the tap just a little bit (electric).

Google maps will lead you to a gravel/ mud road without a sign. But it is right! It is just a short bit around the corner and than you see the Little building. No problem driving it, if you go slow.

Very nice owners and nice horses :)

Enjoy :)

Report Check-In

Hot shower $10k COP per person. This is only place we found with hot water. As it had rained a lot we decided to stay parked in the center and just come and take a shower because of the mud.

O único lugar que encontramos com chuveiro quente, COP $ 10k por pessoa apenas pelo banho. Como havia chovido bastante decidimos ficar estacionados no centro e vir apenas tomar banho por conta da lama.

Report Check-In

Basic bit everything you need and clean. Showers are hot if you don’t turn it up far.
Awesome location. We stayed here 6 nights and loved it. Easy nice walk in town. Quite at night. You can park by the showers or even higher behind the white fence with the best view.

Report Check-In

Very friendly hosts and a quiet place. Very good and clean showers. We felt very comfortable here and paid 40,000 cop for 2 people in the camper. The horseback riding tours offered by the family are highly recommended. We paid 90,000 cop for a 3 hour tour. A great experience!

Report Check-In

Owner is very kind, if there is no-one you can contact them via WhatsApp. New kitchen and bathrooms, clean, tp. No WiFi but good reception with Claro and Tigo.

Report Check-In

Really close to Salento's centre. Showers and toilets are nice and clean. You'll have to love the horse smell and lots of farm noises in the morning though.

Report Check-In

Great little campsite with kitchen and clean toilets and showers. 15 minutes walking distance from town. We paid 20 000 Cop pppn. If you camp at the top by the toilet then there should be no mud to worry about.

Report Check-In

We did not stay here. We walked down to check it out, and it's relatively ok. But if it's raining (which is often is), the camping area is muddy and it's not a good place to hang out. A bit surprising everyone likes it there, but perhaps without the mud it would be ok.

Report Check-In

We camped here four nights. Initially, I didn’t love it because of the horse smell and parking on/near mud. But after driving around town for an hour and a half trying to find somewhere else, we ended up back here. It didn’t end up being bad. The bathrooms are super clean. The showers are more warm than hot. So just shower during the afternoon when the sun is out. :) Lots of sinks for dishes. There are stoves, but I didn’t try them. There is also a covered area with seating. I think the main reason to stay here is that it’s easy walking distance into Salento.

Report Check-In

Bel endroit diego estvtres sympa et la ballade a cheval de 3 h au bord du rio est magique. Sanitaires propres et récents eau chaude cuisine extérieure et 10 mn a pied du centre du joli village. Je recommande !!

Report Check-In

Duchas calientes y baños muy limpios , excelente sitio para cocinar , gran cercanía al pueblo muy recomendado . 👍👍@La_Txl_Colombia

Report Check-In

Nice place very close to town. Walk to main square in 5-10 min by pedestrian bridge.
Friendly family who run the place. Could only stay on upper ground(with van, 6m) because of the rain, it gets muddy. Basic but very clean kitchen and bathroom. 20.000 pp/pn.

Report Check-In

We came here on a muddy/rainy day🥲 everything was a puddle. There was horse poop and mornings are loud with farm animals yelling. But good parts are, extremely clean bathroom, kitchen, the owners are supremely helpful and kind. We did get stuck in mud.

Report Check-In

We stayed a few nights, everything was lovely as already mentioned. The GPS pin was wrong, in the middle of a city block. You need to continue straight off the pavement at the bottom of the hill and down the dirt road. I will try and correct it.

Report Check-In

As described, clean toilets and showers. We did the 2 hrs horseride and had a lot of fun riding through the river and having Coffee at a beautiful small restaurant with spectacular views (70000 cop p.p), worth every peso.
Camping for 2 in a truckcamper was 40000 cop p.n. Very recomended.

Report Check-In

This is the quietest best spot in Salento. Ten minute walk to town then return to peace and quiet and sleep like a baby. This is our third time here and they keep improving the place. You no longer have to walk through horse poop and mud to reach the bathrooms. There’s no longer any roosters to wake you up at the crack of dawn. They’ve made improvements to the road and street lighting as well. Diego has the best horse ride in town down to the river and his prices are very reasonable. If you’ve been waiting to jump on a clean well mannered horse at a good price, this is your chance. We know we’ll be back here again one day.

Report Check-In

Updated pricing for horse tour - hourly 45kpp. We really enjoyed the tour, good value for money. Campsite is as per other comments.

Report Check-In

Nice place near town. Very friendly owners (speaks good english). We parked with a campervan 2wd Ford Transit. Space for 4 rigs, 2 on the upper part and 2 on the lower part. Clean toilets and shower with hot water. It's part of a farm where horses and chickens roam. when we were there they we're improving the road to the lower terras.

Report Check-In

Perfect for tent camping. We liked it a lot. Nice owner. A lot of birds around. No noise at night and close to the village.

Report Check-In

definitely more of a farm than a campground with chickens and horses walking around, but a nice place to leave your rig and explore the city. we left our dogs in the van here when we went into the forest, only to find out later they are allowed in the park. pretty quiet and clean amenities. they did charge us 20k to fill up our water tank which I thought was a little absurd. we spent 3 days here and not once did anyone speak to us in English.

Report Check-In

We stayed here three nights and had a pleasant stay. Omar is a very kind person. We paid 20k per person per night, used the showers and little kitchen area, and parked just past the horse stables. It was great to be able to walk into Salento for exploring. An absolutely gorgeous area!

Report Check-In

we spent 3 nights here and it was great. no wifi but good sign Claro and Tigo. water, clean bathrooms, and Diego and his family are great. we had a great time with them!

Report Check-In

We stayed for two nights and paid 20'000 COP p.P.p.N. Perfect place for visiting Salento. Good and clean facilities and very friendly hosts.

Report Check-In

Great location. Diego is very kind and speaks English. We enjoyed the 3-4 h horseride to an organic coffee farm 100k pp including tour at the farm.

Report Check-In

Nice place! 25000p/p sleeping in your van. Hot showers, close to the city center. We’ve made a horse riding (3-4h) included the visit of a coffee farm (140000p/p). It was really intersting and Diego was very friendly. We recommand this place.

Report Check-In

100 percent recommend this place.
Omar, father, and Diego, son, make a great team. Fabulous place to stay.
I stayed for a week in my MAN 10.5 tonne truck. Easy access, easy exit.
Clean facilities.
Manicured terraces for camping.
Diego is fluent in English, good company, very helpful. Excellent horseman, taking customers on superb day long rides.
Easy and very pleasant five minute walk over the pedestrian bridge to town.
In town great full suspension mountain bike trail tours from advanced to easy and fast.

Report Check-In

Great location! Felt safe. 15K per person/per night. Warm showers. Clean bathrooms. Great horseback rides for 70K. Wear the rubber shoes they provide since it’s a bit wet and muddy. Only negative is you’re right next to the stables so you’re walking through horse poop to use the bathroom. Lots of stable smells and horsefly. And the roosters wake you up early. Other than that, we loved it here and stayed for 3 nights…

Report Check-In

Omar the owner is a super good person. We stayed here two nights(30k per night for 2) and went then for 4 nights on a trek in Los nevados. At this time we could leave our car there and he not want any money for that. We were super happy that our car was on a safe place while we hiked.
the camping has a kitchen with a stove. no fridge.
hot showers. and the bathrooms are always super clean.
thanks a lot omar :)

Nice, quiet and safe camp with very clean bathrooms incl. hot shower, kitchen (still 15'000cop pp)! The owner is very nice, still horse excursions available! In the morning a lot of birds are visiting the place... nice to watch them during breakfast;-)

Great spot to stay in Salento. Good value for money with great super clean shower & toilet facilities. Good kitchen area with tables and cooking area. Omar is very nice and takes great care of his place. Easy power hook up and flat parking area. Amazing birds in the morning.

Report Check-In

Great place for camping. Very clean toilets and showers. Diego is super chill and also has great horse tours. We did the river one and it was good! Basic clean kitchen as well. Quiet at night and most importantly, safe! 15k p person p night. Horse tours are 50-65k depending on length

Report Check-In

Beautifull and quiet place, very friendly people, close to town, everything you need for tent camping, very clean!
We stayed in our 7,5 m long truckcamper at the grassy field above the river. Water available. Warm showers!
Thank you Omar!

Report Check-In

Just a note on the water. The water has some yellow colouring but the owner said the water is safe to drink. We put some in our spare water container, and when we looked at it a few days later it had a lot of brown sediment. Would not recommend drinking it.

Report Check-In

We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Near the center of the town, quiet wand clean. We met a lot of ioverlanders. The owner is really nice, we arrived while he was not there, no problem. Places for trucks are leveled.

Report Check-In

We agree which what is already said. Really very nice place with a marvelous view. The owners are nice too.

Report Check-In

Totally worth it. Still 15k COP pp/pn. Kitchen with gaz available, showers and toilets clean. Very safe. Omar and his guys are great, they also propose finca tour on horses, which we did not do in our case, but sounds good. The weekend we heard a bit the clubs over the main plaza, but was ok.

Report Check-In

Nice place really close to town. Bathrooms and showers are clean. No WiFi. They have an outdoor kitchen you can use- Omar told us the water was safe to drink. We stayed on the flat lot beyond the horse paddock. 30,000 pesos/night for two of us in a van. Really easy walk into town.

Report Check-In

Lovely owners, lovely spot, friendly people, huge shower, clean, short walk into town. Relly enjoyed my stay!

Report Check-In

Very well located RV park close to Salento's downtown. Omar and his son are very nice people. I paid 12000 CP pp for a 3 night stay. We also did a horseback ride with their horses to visit a coffee plantation named La Finca Las Acacias and paid 50000 CP pp with the Coffee tkt included.

Report Check-In

Enjoyed our stay at this campground - everything you need is here, clean bathrooms (bring your own tp), basic kitchen, flat spots for tents. Five minute walk into town. The family that runs this place is very friendly. We did a horseback tour with Diego that we really enjoyed. The horses are very well maintained and easy to ride.

Report Check-In

Basic camping with toilets, warm shower, and horse back riding available. Friendly family.

Report Check-In

Nice camping spot. Easy access to centro and far from a night noise of Salento. Friendly staff, good horse riding.

Report Check-In

This place is run by Omar and Diego who also offer tours on horseback. We slept in the van.

It's a really nice place to camp. there are separate hillside terraces for tents and three terraces for rigs (almost level). Bathrooms have hot showers and are really clean. Open community area includes stoves, running water and some cooking gear.

Prices: 15.000 COP per person and night
65.000COP per person for 3 hours horseback riding, entrance to one coffee finca and tour. That's really cheap considering that Omar and Diego take good care of their horses.

Report Check-In

Good campsite, very close to the city center, easy to find and reach. Has a partly equipped kitchen and very clean toilets and showers. Very safe and secure and a couple of fellow overlanders to talk to. Plus they have horses and offer tours. 15.000 person/night.

Report Check-In

Nice spot with friendly guys running. Convenient for salento. They accepted my dog with no problems.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. Don Omar, Diego and Cristian are very friendly. They have beautiful horses. 5 to 10 min walk to Salento park. Very good location. We stayed 2 weeks and didnt move the camper. We took willys (local taxis) to Cocora and surroundings. Clean bathrooms and hot showers (if u dont open the tap all the way). Nice grill and kitchen. The water was drinkable at least for us. Can be a little bit difficult to level your rig, but with patience and the pieces of wood available u can do it. If nobody is there walk down to the horses or call them. Contact info on the grafitti on the wall. Awesome time here many asados and truchas!!!

Report Check-In

Very nice camping, next to the center.
Easy to reach, even with a big rig. Back up on the property.

Report Check-In

A nice place run by a friendly family, with flat spaces for tents and a flat space for camper trucks, surrounded by horses a few blocks away from the town center. They have the cleanest and roomiest bathrooms!
