Flat area by the side of the road behind some stone huts. Great views windy spot , although not as windy as Patagonia. Lots of wood, even paper for making a fire or BBQ, Argentinian style.

The shelter does exist. Unfortunately, after less than an hour there, a uniformed police officer came to tell us to leave, that we were not allowed to sleep there or even go up without a guide. We know that this is false because a sign indicates at the entrance to the reserve that we can go up alone, under our entire responsibility.. She claimed that it was too dangerous.. Apparently to make us go down to the village (1h30 "road") at 6:30 p.m. in the middle of thick fog it was less so.. Impossible to do otherwise because in uniform.. We had to go back down and unfortunately will not see the Laguna Brava!
Report Check-InThere is a pipe few meters in the south of the shelter with potable water
Report Check-InChecked it out during a day trip with an organized excursion. Spot exists, but the access road is gravel. It seems suitable for 2WD, but if you want to go with a motorhome you may still consider what this road could do to your vehicle.
Report Check-InVery authentic place. Slept here one night. in the morning a pickup showed up telling me that it's not allowed to sleep here and that you need a guide for laguna brave. He claimed to be a "guarda del fauna" or something. Did not wear any official cloths though. The sign at the refugio says that you are allowed to sleep inside. So I'd just ignore all of that and camp anyway...
Report Check-InPerfekt place for the night. Only negativ topic is that people are leaving her garbage around the place. As this is a little oasis guanacos are showing up from time to time. We made a hiking tour in the morning to reach the 4000m level. Beautiful.
