Still locals set up here asking for $50 pesos. If you are heading North on this highway make sure you fill up gas and food here because for the next few hundred kilometres there are no open gas stations or food vendors.

Report Check-In

Still locals standing outside the toll both, did pay them anything as we told them we only had our televia prepaid tag for the road, all big trucks where just driving through

Report Check-In

Finally decided to stop and have a chat with these vigilante toll collectors. We politely inquired as to the reason, the lady gave us a piece of propaganda paper which explained nothing. I asked for more information - why, where was the money going etc. she gave some vague answers: she was going to give it to those people over there, They were going to take it somewhere else. All the while traffic was backing up behind us and she was eyeing the growing line. I politely told her we weren't just going to give them money when she couldn't say where it was going. They let us through.
Smile and wave.

Report Check-In

Still overtaken by locals. They asked for 50 pesos, we gave 20 and they waved us through.

Report Check-In

Friendly people tooled the tool they asked for 50 pesos or whatever you want to give them.
We give them around 25$ pesos they didn’t check or count it only smile and thanks us

Report Check-In

Have been driving through here in direction south.
People where there collecting money. Everything was friendly. We placed 20 Pesos in the basket, they where happy.

Report Check-In

They didn’t ask for a specific amount and were just waving traffic through, but folks were slowing down enough to throw some pesos in a bucket. We donated what we had in the console of the car (maybe 10 pesos) and got big smiles and a thank you. A lot cheaper than the normal toll!
