Rest area at the visitor center, noisy because of the highway but separate parking lot for RV and trucks. Overnight permitted and 24 hours restrooms.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Felt very safe and comfortable spending the night here. It’s a bit noisy being right next to the highway but it didn’t keep us up. There’s trash and bathrooms. The visitor center has some interesting displays and a 4 1/2 minute movie to learn a little about the Atchafalaya culture. About 6 other RV/campers staying here. The truck side looked full as well.
Report Check-InLarge rest area, with night-time security. If you're sensitive to road noise, this may not be the place for you. I'd stay here again.
Report Check-InSuper air de repos avec un stationnement réservé pour les RV, Toilette 24/24.
Report Check-InWelcome center. I always stop here on my travels via I10. very clean and safe.
Report Check-InWelcome center. Great spot for overnighting.
24/24h Restrooms
Video surveillance
Great, safe spot but loud traffic from I-10 as almost everyone has said. Just think of it as constant white noise.
Report Check-InSafe place to stay overnight. Road noise wasn’t terrible. Great free coffee in the morning. If you have 5 minutes to spare, check out the show in the welcome center.
Report Check-InLots of spot to park, very noisy as other check ins have said. The signage leading into the rest area was a little confusing.
Report Check-Inlots of room! clean. As others said highway noise but a great place to stop.
Report Check-InLarge rest area and information center. Information center closes at 5 pm. I got here. at 5:02. The sign says they have coffee. There are large restrooms and well stocked vending machines. Lots of traffic noise since the interstate is elevated above the parking lot.
Report Check-InOff the highway about a mile. road noise. safe for solo female travelers. tons of spots.
Report Check-InSecurity, overnight parking allowed, quiet, good shade areas, 24 hour bathrooms
Report Check-InAtchafalaya themed rest area, with lots of tourist information about the region. We asked to make sure we could stay the night, they said yes, but they don't want to compete with surroundings campgrounds. I took that as meaning to not squat there.
As others have noted, 24h restrooms and free coffee when the visitor center is open.
Report Check-InStayed one night here. Coolest rest stop ever, cute displays and video theater inside! free coffee in the morning at the welcome center. It was very very loud. Traffic didn’t die down. The security lady wouldn’t let us park our extended van in the rv spots which are further from the bridge highway, had to park in the car spots, so it was very noisy. Had ear plugs but I think the bridge made it louder. Good t-mobile and visible reception
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed staying here. The road noice didn’t bother us and we sleep with a window cracked open. Lots of grassy area’s to walk our dog. Interesting sites to see in and out of the Visitors Center.
Report Check-InHas security woman flashed her lights at me I pulled over to her and asked can you park here she said yes , if I could though let other’s know that when you pull in the car parking lot turn your headlights off . They shine right in her car . Noises because of the highway. It was hot and buggy but it serve its purpose. Bring bug spray.
Report Check-Inlots of space, a bit of highway noise, lots and lots of Moskitos, but a clean and safe place for a night
Report Check-InWe arrived just before sunset. We were pleasantly surprised by how big this place seems. Semi's go one way and car's, RV's and busses go another. We saw security right away and that felt good. We found a spot and settled in. Beware of mosquitoes. They are biters!!
26ft Class C
A perfect place to rest from driving I-10. 24-hour security. 24-hour bathrooms, nice and clean, AC is blasting in there, it's cold!
The visitor center is open 8:30 to 5pm and is so neat to check out. Free coffee, free wifi, cute little exhibits with animatronic swamp animals and an interactive movie room. Definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for something free and safe to crash for a night.
Report Check-InA bit noisy because of the freeway but felt safe, 24h restrooms, security guard
Report Check-InGreat place to stop in the middle of the Atchafalaya Bridge. Safe and secure with lots of picnics areas
Report Check-InGreat place to stay- super safe with security. I think they even dim the lights a bit late at night. Lots of people sleeping in their cars/vans/RVs. Freeway noise didn’t seem so bad. Nice visitor center during the day- they gave me very good info on locality as well as Mardi Gras. Super nice people. Worth a walk around and I think there’s a lil movie about the surrounding land. Would def stay again if I was passing thru
Report Check-InLighted, security on site, clean bathrooms, road noise (earplugs recommended).
Report Check-InEast bound entrance closed nightly for the month of June 2021 for construction
Report Check-InGreat location with clean 24/7 bathrooms and kind of noisy due to being close to the highway but that is okay! Felt safe with the security driving around
Report Check-InVery nice rest area. Decently lit at night. Caught a day nap and decided to chill for the night. Very safe feeling.
Report Check-InThis is a great rest area. There is a security office and the officer was sitting outside of it in his car, facing the lot. That made me feel very safe. There were also cameras and a street light directly above my car which was comforting to me since I was traveling solo as a female. There is a giant green area with walking paths and covered picnic tables which is a great place to walk dogs. The lot is big and everyone was able to spread out. Bathrooms are open 24/7. I was pleased to see a giant stall in the women’s bathroom with its own sink, so I was able to brush my teeth and get ready for bed/the day in privacy. This is truly one of the best and most secure rest areas I’ve ever been to. There were some mosquitos that snuck into my car, which was annoying to try to fall asleep with. I would recommend bringing some sort of mosquito repellent. It was also hot, so some sort of fan would have been great. Overall, this is a great find.
Report Check-InReally close to the Interstate but safe place to Camp. Convient when just passing through.
Report Check-InFree coffee is a nice touch and staff is friendly. There's a faucet near the coffee where I filled my one gallon water bottle, which was not possible in the restrooms. But I found the traffic noisy.
Report Check-InExcellent visitor centre with free coffee. Free WiFi extends to the car-park. Convenient nightstop, not too noisy given the roadside location, we got a good night's sleep.
Report Check-Inclean bathrooms. no tap or spicket though and the drinking fountain was barely working.
Report Check-Inbathrooms. by the highway. very noce and clean. pop machines, coffee during the day
Report Check-InRest area at the visitor center, noisy because of the highway but separate parking lot for RV and trucks. Overnight permitted and 24 hours restrooms.
