The tranquility of this site is amazing 👏 If u want to rough it but still enjoy the luxury of a warm shower, this is the place to be. Alot of bird activity all day, and the sound of animals close up at night. A definite place to visit.

One of our favorite campsites in Kruger. Has a bit of a bush camp feeling, even though it’s fenced. Many sites don’t have much privacy (one of the few more private ones is nr.4) but many are on the fenceline and people tend to be pretty quiet here, so the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. No electricity. There are a few owls always around (pretty much in the same spots all day, sleeping), ask the caretaker Rogers to show them to you. Hyenas calling out a lot at nights, too. The river loops nearby are good ones to drive in the morning or late afternoon, two leopards like them a lot, too. Ablutions are old, but clean. Water in the shower is by geysirs but it’s not always hot. No cell signal nor wifi.

Brilliant campsite so close to nature. You hear hippo’s, elephant and hyena at night. During the day elephant and giraffe stroll by. Watch utube to see which site you want to book to avoid being disappointed. Rodgers has been here 16+ years and him and his team do an excellent job. Fair ablutions always clean. Kitchen facilities vgood. It’s rustic so be prepared! We love it here. Ask Rodgers to show you the owls.

Great rustic campsite, about 20 spots and close to nature. Our type of campsite. Yes there are some double sites but they have more room than the parking lot type sites at the big campgrounds in the park. You do hear animals, surprised at the noisy animal comment - Isn’t that why you came here?

Really enjoyed staying here.

Beautiful camp in general, but as you may not choose your own campsite, you might be out of luck. We got assigned one of the smaller spots, campsite 6, which is literally on top of campsite 5 and 7, without any privacy, and both neighbouring campsites were packed with huge families. So keep that risk in mind if it matters to you.

Great spot. There is a shared fridge to place some food or beers. Not quiet as you hear animals through the night and birds all day, even had an elephant hanging around. Really nice place, our favorite :)

Our favorite camp in KNP! Easy booking online www.sanparks.org and then phone Mopani Camp to allocate stand number. We uses no. 31 against the fence. All sites great but we prefer no.s 26-32. Nice outdoor shower under the stars!

numbered cites, check-in at Mopani. quite and nice.

Quiet rustic camp in the heart of the Kruger. Shady campsites each with braai and dustbin. No electricity at camp but there are communal gas stoves and freezers. Bathroom works on solar, showers don’t always have hot water. No cellphone coverage. Great place to spot owls, just ask caretakers to show you where they are. Sites are allocated so remember to check in at Mopanie to get your site number.

We spend a week in Kruger NP and drove from north (Phalaborwa Gate) to the south. We had no reservations for any camp, but it was very quiet this time of the year.
Tsendze is a very nice smaller camp. We think the most beautiful of al the camps we've seen in the Kruger. We paid R 287,85 for two people p night.
We had a lot of elephants around but with the thick mopani it was difficult to spot other animals.

Nice camp site, check in at Mopani, site will be allocated to you. No electricity, but water around camp ground. 34 sites. Paid R305

We love this campsite. Sites are surrounded by trees and grass and are very private. Each with a braai and trash can. Water taps available throughout, but not at each site. The ablutions are new & beautiful and even include two open air showers at the male entrance and two at the female entrance - so you can shower under the stars! Solar electricity lights the ablutions and wash up / kitchen area. Try to get site 3. It's huge, up against the fence and private.

Check-in has to be done at Mopani first. A piece of tranquility camping in the busy SA Christmas holidays!

Report Check-In

lovely bush camp feel to this place, fenced in small forest area with about 30 pitches, would possibly feel crowded if busy but when we visited end November it felt as if we were the only people there (although there were others!). very good, well maintained and felt recently upgraded facilities, bathroom and kitchen.
Lots of shade and water available.
You have to let yourselves in at the gate as no staff or reception on site here.
Nice place to stay for a few nights rustic bush camping in kruger NP.
