One of the 10 designed campspot inside the Palmwag concession. This campsite is marked as C-1 on the map. Absolutely no facilities but we had lions roaring all around us throughout the night. Next to a riverbed and a big tree provides shade

We stopped here for the lunch and enjoyed the place. Big tree for the shade. Beautiful surrounding. Saw a lot of dassies.
Report Check-Ingood spot
lots of dassies!
no other animals but traces.
the tracks in the park are very, very rough: lots and lots of rocks
A nice, big site near (or almost) in the riverbed. Big tree for shade. Didn’t see any animals, though, not even bush chickens or sand growls. Hidden from the road, as down almost in the riverbed. This was marked as Campsite 2. In the Hoanib end we paid N$100 ppn + N$100 for the car. In Palmwag end it’s the same but N$150 for the car.
Report Check-InDon't get confused with Site Numbers, just follow the signs. They have installed new signs all around the park during Covid time. Nicely organised. Unfortunately there is another "campsite 2" sign further down the road, but not marked in their printed map and no GPS points. Then you find the campsites C1 and C2, but the installed signs are confusing. Either way, enjoy!
Report Check-InActually campsite 2, not 1 as mentioned below. Quite good, pretty at sunset. Zero facilities. Fresh elephant dung to keep me company.
Report Check-InCampsite number 1, one of the 10 designated campsites in the Palmwag consession. Its in a valley, next to a riverbed with a big tree providing some shade.
Report Check-InRough and rocky trails inside Palmwag. Need to pay entry fee of 120 per person and 120 for vehicle, this is per night and so allowed then to bush camp, a number of designated areas though we actually stayed at a non designated spot. We visited end of May 2017 and were slightly disappointed at the lack of wildlife, really not much about, we saw more on the drive to the entrance.
There's a 'disease control fence' to cross and they will confiscate any RAW meat/animal/poultry products.
great place to stay inside the park and cheap. no fences and no facilities but heard hyena and saw lots of other animals in the park
Report Check-InOne of a couple of spots where you are allowed to camp inside the Palmwag concession, absolutely no facilities but we had lions roaring all around us throughout the night, camping at Palmwag Lodge was too pricey for us with 180N$ pp (13€) and you only pay 100N$ pp (7€) and 100N$ per car as concession fees when staying inside Palmwag
