Great free parking spot right next to Forsyth Park in the Victorian part of Savannah. No time limit, parked all day and night here with no trouble. Check signs for street sweeping times- currently left side of street is Monday night, right side is Thursday night. Also lots of parking options on Abercorn St- may be more suitable for bigger rigs. Very quiet for being on a city street. Bathrooms available one block away at the Forsyth Park Cafe.

Easy Peasy! Residential area. It was fairly quiet & level. A bit of traffic & walkers but it died down after 10pm. No issues
Report Check-InEasy, convenient spot. Walking distance of the park and could see it from my spot. Not too many people walked by just cars, but it slowed down eventually. Slept under trees covered in Spanish moss so had a pretty view. Would stay again.
Report Check-InIt was very noisy, it is nice during the day, but we did not sleep a lot…..
Report Check-InParked on W Gwinnett without trouble, but would recommend another side street as this was a pretty busy road. Earplugs worked for sleeping though.
Report Check-InWoke up to a knock on the door this morning though I did not park at the spot until 5:30 am. I was not issued a ticket ($30).
Report Check-InWe started out in a parking space across from the tennis court, but while walking out to browse around the city we found some angled street parking at the intersection of Howard Street @ West Huntingdon. Parked near a nice Winnie Trevado, other than that, we had the street to ourselves (on a Monday night). Some streets in the area are posted “no parking” at certain times/days because of street sweeping, but it’s posted. We looked for areas that allowed parking tonight :)
Report Check-InSpent two quiet nights here. The east side is along a busy road. Best to try for the middle area. Also, don’t even think of coming in before 5 on a Sunday as the farmers market makes this lot a med house. Woke Monday morning with at least 7 vans, class C, and sleep in cars.
Report Check-InFantastic free camp spot, stayed here 2 nights with free street parking next to The Mansion with no issues. Visitors center across the street in the park has a bathroom 8am-6pm. Kroger 2 blocks away also has a bathroom 6am-11pm. Felt super safe, some traffic noise but nothing crazy. Easy Uber (10 mins) or 30 mins walking to downtown / River walk. Beautiful historic area!
Report Check-InStayed two nights near The Haunt restaurant. Very quiet, felt safe, close to Forsyth Park restrooms and historic walking area. Great place to camp in the city!
Report Check-InWe parked and spent the night on Hall corner of Lincoln on the east side of the park. Pretty quite and with the shades down we slept great. We did the “self guided walk “ at sunset around the area and all the way to the river and back. Came back it was dark. Felt very safe. What a great city!!!
Report Check-InSpent 1 night here. Street noice but nothing crazy. Definitely check for street sweeping signs. Safe
Report Check-InI have been staying on the side streets to the East of the park for days. There are no meters, you don’t need to pay, no pkg limits and it’s safe! My favorite streets are Hall, Nicoll, Gaston and the other little streets around there. Like previous posters have mentioned, just make sure you check the street cleaning signs. I’ve been staying on these streets for 4 days/nights without issue.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Fifty feet from The Sentient Bean coffee shop. A little loud
at times during the night but a great location.
Wonderful overnight stay in the parking lot. It was well lit, quiet and felt safe. The location is absolutely dreamy.
Report Check-InPerfect place to roll into. Very low key. Saw one other van. Took a walk in the park after dark that leads to many shops and places to eat. Love Savannah
Report Check-InStayed one evening and one day parked here no issues. Parking lot about half full other campers as well :).
Report Check-InGreat suggestion!! It was tricky to figure out all the street sweeper schedules and a little challenging to find a spot for our 22 ft RV, but we did two separate nights in a row. First night the street was really busy and the traffic kept us up all night. the following night it was a quieter street but construction started at 6 am right next door. cell signal was good. great spot
Report Check-InStayed 2 nights in the same parking spot and no issues at all. During the day it's very busy with visitors to the park and tennis courts but around 5pm it starts to empty. In the morning the only vehicles were small Class C's but mostly Camper Vans. Not a place for trailers. No hookups naturally. We had bikes on the back and didn't have any issues. Would stay again. 4 star rating.
Report Check-InI stayed on the south side of the park at the tennis court parking lot (in maps you can put Forsyth Park Tennis Courts), I just feel more comfortable in a lot rather than on the street. There were other rigs parked there as well. Not far from downtown but there were some homeless people on the tennis court benches however they did not bother us at all. It’s definitely busy during the day so don’t bet on having a spot if you plan on arriving then but after dark it empties out. No amenities near in the park and not for large rigs!
Report Check-InGreat location, showed up around 6pm and left around 11am, 2 nights. There were a few other campervans and it seemed like a 170 fit no problem
Report Check-InWe parked on the street and it was wonderful. super quiet neighborhood. just be careful you don't have as much privacy, otherwise you're good.
Report Check-InQuiet and calm during night. Stayed on a Friday night. Saturday morning woke earlier than planned to a farmer’s market! Restroom in park closes early. Other restrooms nearby by in American Legion where Betty’s Bombers is, and in the Bean coffee shop. Both those businesses are tasty and recommended.
Report Check-InBomb location. Bathrooms at the park currently open 7:30a-5p. There are a few portapotties outside as well. Hung out with our lights on with no problem. Spent 2 nights parked just outside the tennis courts.
Report Check-Ini parked right on e gwinnett st from about 9pm to 12pm the next day. it was a saturday night/sunday morning and wasnt as quiet during the day, as i would have liked. parked outside of a particularly noisy familie’s home lol. but no one bothered me. its in such a beautiful neighborhood, would park here again.
Report Check-InTransit 250 Hightop Ext van. Parked in the south lot by the tennis courts around noon. Went walking to the historic district for a few hours and slept here for the night. The tennis players were there until 10 when the lights go out. After they left there was little to no noise and we slept with the windows open. Woke up to a quiet morning with more tennis players showing up. Did some more walking and left around noon.
Report Check-InExcellent spots on Abercorn. Were here for two days / nights with no issues.
Report Check-InTout au tour du parc il y a du stationnement gratuit. Il faut vérifier les avis des journées et des heures sur les pancartes dans la rue. Près du centre ville, restos, très beau.
Report Check-InLike a visitor before me, I stayed in the lot on the south side of Forsythe Park. No fees or signs. Beautiful park with a coffee shop nearby. The city has a dot shuttle that will take you around the historic district for free, with a stop right by the parking lot, so the spot is a great home base for easy sightseeing over a good sized area. Stayed 2 days.
Highly recommended!
Arrived just afternoon, walked all of Savannah and was going to stay the night, but in the evening it was somewhat noisy and there were more police in this part of town than I have ever seen in a city. if you search online you'll see why. Day time at this park is hopping, very cool. At night it seems like the opposite.
Report Check-InWe spent 4 nights in the parking lot by the end of Forsyth Park. Awesome place to park to be in the beautiful Savannah. You can catch a free shuttle every 10 minutes to get to the historic district.
Report Check-InStayed at the small, free parking lot at the end of Forsyth Park across from the health food store. No signs limiting overnight parking, no time limits. Stayed 2 nights without a problem. Some local traffic, gets busy with parking cars about 6a with joggers. Great spot to enjoy relaxing park and walking Savannah.
Report Check-InGreat free parking spot right next to Forsyth Park in the Victorian part of Savannah. No time limit, parked all day and night here with no trouble. Check signs for street sweeping times- currently left side of street is Monday night, right side is Thursday night. Also lots of parking options on Abercorn St- may be more suitable for bigger rigs.
