Very nice and flat spot right next to the lake. Access to the water so you can dip into the lake and use the water.
We asked at a hut close to here if we can stay here and they said it's fine.
Beautiful view of the mountain range behind the lake.
Much nicer than the other spot marked close to here.
Some windshelter by bushes but only for tents.
Space for about 4 vehicles.
Come here - it's worth the visit.
There is a little dirt track on the right. Look out, it's a little hidden 20 meters down to the river and you are there.
Not for motorhomes or biggest rigs
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Not possible to get here anymore, they installed a new metal crash barrier, that blocks the road.
Report Check-InAmazing spot. Tight entry. We went in with a truck camper, I wouldn't want to try it with anything bigger.
Report Check-InNice spot near the lake, we don’t hear the road that much. It is a bit small (2 vehicles maximum) and I don’t recommend if you don’t have a 4x4 (steep, sand and in bad shape).
Report Check-InGreat place off the road. Beautiful setting with the mountains and lake. You can still hear cars passing by though, but you can’t see them.
Was windy the first night, but the next night it was very calm. Was able to take the stand up paddle board out.
Both nights we had our roof tent, a camper van and motorcycle sharing the space, with room to spare.
Great place next to a beautiful lake with view on the mountains. We spent two nights here and nobody annoyed us. No issue to go up with our Mitsubishi L300
Report Check-InNice place with perfect sunset. We didn't se the entrence at the first time. Not super flat. Very windy. No signal. Cows came during night.
Report Check-InPerfect spot! It's so peaceful... we spend two days there just enjoying the place! It's down the road on your right (accessible without 4WD, the entry is small, okay for a van but not a big rig), on the side of the lake with view on the mountains and the glacier! Good for tent too, plenty of grass. There's a fire pit. You can dip in the lake if the weather is good! We even saw a fox in the evening!
Report Check-In4wd, ground tent,4 persons.
Best to enter coming from Puerto Rio Tranquilo (difficult entry for big rigs anyway as previously said), surprisingly good spot, almost the only one in the area though.
There is no way that this is big rig friendly. The space between the guard rails might only be 2m wide and the road is not wide enough for a 7m long vehicle to turn. Big rigs avoid this spot.
Report Check-InWent there but it's a bit tight for bigger rigs. I think it'd pass but with the risk of scratching the sides because of the vegetation. We are 6m long and 2,10m wide and preferred not to go
Report Check-InVery tiny to enter in, small place for 3 max. cars.
Ground is not very flat but okay for one night.
The close wood is an open-air toilet with a lot of papiers.
Please keep your toilet papers with you or burn them.
Beautiful spot, tho we arrived and left when raining, couldn't enjoy much the views but still. If raining best to have a 4x4, the entry is quite steep.
Report Check-InPerfect spot directly at the lake! The short path leading to the spot is easy to drive. Just be careful when it’s raining: Our friends in a Mitsubishi L300 had problems to get out of the spot because of the muddy ground. No problems in our 4x4 though.
Report Check-InGorgeous spot. A little hard to find - you need to look for a gap in the guardrail for the road. But once down here, it’s very private highly recommend
Report Check-InWe spent a week there with others Overlanders, this spot is great! You are quite hidden from the road, you can make a fire and enjoy the view on the lake and mountains. No phone signal.
Report Check-InThe best wild camp option around the area. Glaciar views, just right by the lake, 2 medium size rigs will fit comfortably, grassy and bush covering the wind, not very leveled but you can find rocks here to make it work. Very convenient if you are doing the marble tour the next morning. Not much firewood around like in other places.
