Description

Took us 4.5 hours to get here from Villa de Leyva ( heading for Medellin via lesser used roads) amazing scenery but not so amazing roads ((alternating 20 metres of perfect Tarmac followed by 20 metres unpaved. This is a small complex with restaurant and a large, very clean swimming pool with one of those curly slides. Initially they said no camping but agreed once we said we wanted to have a few beers and eat. Go round the left/behind the bar on to the grass. There is also Hotel Alkala opposite but we could not see any secure parking. Clean toilets but no showers.

They didn‘t let us stay here over night. So we chose the Hotel Alkana accross the steet. There is a big parking lot for truckers in the backyard of the hotel. No height limit. We felt secure. Some truck noise in the morning, when they left. Clean toilet and shower near the pool, little restaurant, good and cheap food. We paid 30k (we didnt‘want to use the pool, but it was clean). It took us also almost 5 hours from Villa de Leyva until here.

Slept here on the way to Villa de Leyva.

Really nice spot with a restaurant! The road is not that close and you can park behind the restaurant.

Huge lot with a pool. The whole complex (pool and restaurant) close at 8pm. Staff was super friendly. Cost 25,000 pesos/night for staying in our van. Be careful not to drive on the rickety wood in the middle of the parking lot- the guy said it would not hold our van 😳 three cute dogs (one not so friendly). Had a good dinner there (try the steak!), just really really hot. Agree with comments below about the road between here and San Gil — ROUGH. Like, probably one of the roughest of our trip- just FYI.

Excellent place to stay. Good for any size rig, toilets/showers open all night, delicious and reasonably priced dinner, great pool and children's playground.
Highly recommended. 30,000 per night.

Nice spot. Good parking for camping, yummy food, dinner...great for the drive between Barichara and Medellin. If you have time, there is a pool for relaxing, trout fishing, etc. Very clean bathrooms!! 30,000 CoP per car. Highly recommend.

Nice place for a night, friendly people, a pool (perfect for this temperatures), also a restaurant is there. Safe parking as well, your are alone during night, but they close the gate! We payed 30.000 for overnight and entrance to the swimming pool. Nearby are many horses, and if you are lucky, you can watch them train for a special event. We enjoyed staying over night, and also had good dinner and a beer.

Good option for lunch along the road
