Description

There's a sign "beachside" on the main road. Just follow this sign which leads you direct to a very nice beach. You can park your caravan a few meters before the beach on the right hand side. There are trees which provide shade. Our caravan is 3,30 m high. We had no problems to enter (only a few branches). On the beach there are several beach bars. We recommend the second (Santosha). The owner (Lamin) is a very nice guy, who teaches Yoga as well. If you drink something there, you can use the very comfy sunbeds and umbrellas for free. Drinks have reasonable prices. You can order food, too. We had 3G with our Africell-SIM.
** There are toilets here! Just 25m to the right of the spot, there are little paths to a crumbling toilet block with a corrugated roof, no water or anything but 2 seemingly plumbed squat toilets

You can get most of the way with 2wd, however to get a beach view you will need 4wd. We stayed 2 nights on the hard ground on the side of the track. All of the beach bars were closed when we visited "low season" apparently, we came with our own food anyway. 4g signal with Africell on the beach

Amazing location, a little difficult to find the right path, take the road with the sign to ‘little’s retreat’. If you’re camping here please please please don’t just leave your shit and toilet paper in the spot. Buy a shovel and dig a hole and put your toilet paper in a bag. Super disappointing to experience this kind of selfishness from other overlanders.

We can strongly recommend Santosha Beach bar. Lamin and his team were very nice and helpfull. Food is great. Lamin prepared on preorder a nice dish with calmar for us.

One of the nicest place on our tour. Direct at the beach. We drived down the road and moved to the ground on the right side of the road. We installed between the palm trees.
Unfortunately they breaked-in in a box outside on the back of the car. We guess this happens during the night, while we were sleeping. I guess they don't noticed that we sleept in the car. We diden't heard something. This night the sea was rough and the waves were noisy. We stayed more than two weeks.

one of the best beach camp sites we have had in Sengal/Gambia. best swimming for sure. we ordered some fish from the beachbar close by (Santosha bar - Steven). Access with unimog no problem.
