Colombia
The highway is under construction and currently has long delays (2+hrs) morning and afternoon. Restricted to one lane when passable AND very muddy when raining. If your vehicle is 2wd or low clearance, check road conditions before attempting.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Road update. This road was closed to Tierra Adentro, we had to take the road through Parque Purace. It was beautiful, but took all day to cross over the mountains..
Report Check-InStill the same 30km, still work on the road. Can be muddy in some parts, high clearance recommend but doable without. Closed 6pm to 6am.
Report Check-InNot update. Same conditions but we also made it! Ford Focus 01. 2wd. 🧸
Report Check-InStill under construction and about 30 km a partialy very mudy dirt road (rain season). That was a experience, beautiful surroundings. High clearance is an advantage. We made it with our Ford E350, 2wd.
Report Check-InUPDATE.
There is now only 30km of dirt road. The route is breathtakingly stunning.
I did it in a 10 tonne MAN 4x4 big rig. Narrow track in places, very tricky if a truck comes the other way, oh, and Colombian car drives who cannot reverse... pathetic to watch, but funny.
No delays, landslides are always a risk, but this is The Andes.
if you have a decent vehicle, do it.
Motorcycle rider. Perfect road, almost everything is concrete now only little dirt stretches. Was a bit disappointed hoped for more off-road. Even with the rain on top, almost now mud.
Report Check-InUpdated road report- no delays for us. Very little mud. Any vehicle could make it. Make sure you gas up and get supplies before you start up the hill. Beautiful views of Nevado Huila if you start out early. Only 3 small restaurants along the way. Actually quite enjoyed this road.
Report Check-InRoad now opens more frequently during the day, for periods of 60-90 mins so check with a bus driver or just drive to the barrier and ask. If on a bicycle you can just lift it over the barrier and carry on (ignoring the protests of whoever is controlling the barrier) as there is more than enough space to safely ride through on a bike. Be prepared for lots of mud!
Report Check-InOpen from 10am to 13pm. It was raining and we had no problem with our 4x4 VW T5
Report Check-InDo not take this road. We arrived here after driving down the dirt/rock/gravel as others have stated. We arrived 3.40pm and had to wait till 4.30pm to start moving because someone got bogged coming the other way. Then someone got bogged in front of us. The whole thing took about 1.5hrs to pass 3km. The road is just mud and we had no problems but other might so best to go via San Augustin in my opinion.
Report Check-InWe arrived here (4 km before this point) exactly at 10 AM and the road was indeed closed. We still had to wait for 30 more minutes because traffic coming from Inza had priority on traffic from Popayán. The road from Popayán to here was quite good tar with some deformations. This bad part is only 3 km. Then reasonably good to Inza except one really (muddy) bad (short) part. This road is, at the moment of writing, doable for any car in case of good driver skills and ok weather. Last kms before Inza are bumpy and this continues to a few kms before Tierradentro.
Report Check-InClosed completely between 7-10 and 1-4 daily. Other times it is passable by one lane at a time.
Report Check-InThe highway is under construction and currently has long delays (2+hrs) morning and afternoon. Restricted to one lane when passable AND very muddy when raining. If your vehicle is 2wd or low clearance, check road conditions before attempting.
Report Check-InWorks on Route 26. Km 57 to km 60. Closed from 7AM until 10AM and from 1PM until 4PM. Other times : alternate circulation. Very muddy!
