Description

Nice little campground within Uwharrie National Forest. Great spot to explore the forest as campground has direct access to The Uwharrie Trail. Campsites are a medium size but road is narrow so big units would struggle to back in. I would recommend nothing longer then 35ft total. Campsites have table, fire pit and lantern post. Only pit toilets available with no water source. Sites are only $10/night with 50% discount for certain pass holders. Very quiet and peaceful. Showers/Flush toilets are available at Badin Lake or Arrowhead campgrounds that are close by for $3 charge

Comfortably fit our 40' class A but explore your options first. Enjoyed the tranquility and Fall. Would return.

After finding Yates CG full (Tues afternoon at 3pm), we spent a quiet night here with no one else around.
There is one pull thru site but the rest would be hard for most large rigs. Some are more level than others. Just beyond the Uwharrie Trailhead.

Small primitive campground. Pit toilets that aren't in the best shape. Arrived around 7:30 PM on a Saturday, a handful of sites still available. Sites are small, can't imagine a bigger rig getting in here. Our 20' camper van had no issues though. We had a couple of bars of Verizon LTE cell service. It's a perfect spot for the night as we pass through.

Handful of campsites pretty close together. Very quiet, primitive camp grounds suited for smaller vehicles. We saw a few pull behinds but they were on the smaller end. Access to the trail network is at your doorstep!

Nice little Forest Service campground. Got in after dark and it was a bit difficult to figure out how things were laid out, here are some tips: When you arrive there's a map and pay station on the right. $10/night.. There are some sites off a spur across the road from the pay station, but the main campground is past the pay station on the right.

Pretty decent sites, relatively clean pit toilets.

Apparently this campground is very popular during hunting seasons and is always first-come first-served, so if you're counting on camping here in the fall or early winter you may want a backup plan.

Beautiful sites. Memorial weekend and it’s pretty open. Will definitely return.

Report Check-In

Campsites were $10/night, but all sites were completely full by the time we got there and had to find a different place. Beautiful remote campground with a quick access to the Uwharrie trailhead.

Report Check-In

Could not tell anything about the campground as the road in was closed with a sign "Closed due to Covid."
