There is a sign at the entrance that says no camping within 1/4 mile of the highway, not 1 mile or so like others have said. The spots within this 1/4 mile also have signs that say no camping. After that, there are tons of spots to choose from that accommodate rigs of varying sizes. The main road is decent. The side roads get really nasty after rain.

You are allowed to camp 1 mile up the road, I checked with the GCNP rangers. And it’s not snowy, unlike the sites a few miles away near the Desert View area. But the mud was too much for my little sedan. I’m sure it’d be fine for a tougher vehicle, but I didn’t get too far beyond the turn off from the highway.

It is allowed to camp in National Forest wherever someone camped before. The Ranger at the National Park Campground told me that and had a handout with rules…you have to drive farther away from the road! Many spots, really quiet

it says no camping for the 1st mile or so— but beyond that were plenty of rigs set up. we drove by a bunch of spots with multiple rigs next to each other, but we continued a bit further and found a spot that was big enough to just fit our van, nestled in the trees! it was quiet and perfect for the night before heading into the Grand Canyon for a sunrise hike!

lots of places to have your own privacy and fire rings everywhere I picked up a little trash left by others but overall clean and perfect. helicopters started in the day.. around 9

Report Check-In

The spots are closed now. There are now no camping signs.

Report Check-In

Closed. There is a panel which explain to not tent.

Really nice spot right next to the entrance of the canyon and right next to town. It does get crowded but being here on Memorial Day weekend i would have expected it to be much worse. Pretty quiet spot, would definitely stay here again.

Very close to the entrance of grand canyon NP. It was quite busy but I think enough space for everyone of you give up some privacy/space. The road was in good condition. It was quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot 5 minutes from the NP visitor center.

We found a Nice spot for our RV, pretty quiet, stayed 2 days. Great location

Report Check-In

stayed 2 nights. very popular so plan to arrive before sunset to get a spot during busy seasons.

lots of others around. space for quite a few in here if parked considerately. we got there just at sunset and had no trouble finding a spot. met some other nice vanlifers over a campfire. no cell or internet service. super convenient for entering or re-entering the park, just do it early otherwise the queues get long! no facilities.

Report Check-In

Free camping in National Forest right outside Grand Canyon South Rim entrance. Plenty of flat ground with fire rings. We had no issues with our 30 ft Class C RV. Highly recommend! There’s plenty other roads besides this one with campsites in the National Forest too.

Report Check-In

Right after the entrance on the left there are several flat spots with fire rings. The road is nearby so you can see cars' lights and hear them but it's quiet by night. Really convenient as a base to visit the NP given how close it is from there although it fills up quickly. We've seen big rigs coming here so provided you get here early there is a spot for everyone. There are toilets, showers, WIFI and all other services at the NP, just minutes away from here.
