It’s just as described, I parked a little ways down from 8th St. Against the green fence. My van a a bit more stealth, no suitable for large rigs, narrow 2 lane street, windy road, steep grade.
Very dark street, no facilities. I did not walk down to beach. Just parked
only for one nite.

The police woke me up at 10:30pm to make sure I wasn’t casing the neighborhood. Fortunately, they were kind and respectful. After they asked and searched my car the officer said to me, “I’m not going to tell you can’t sleep in your car here, but if somebody else calls you in I’ll have to come back.”

**update** got here late last night just to get out of town for a night and was woken up by cops this morning telling us someone called and complained about us being parked here. Apparently laguna beach city law says any not otherwise designated parking space is a maximum of 3 hour parking. They were the nicest cops we've ever met, so happy and cheerful and seemed to feel really bad to crash our sleep-in.

Stealth camping is a bit more challenging here. Beware the local police say overnight sleeping in your vehicle is not allowed in Laguna Beach. While you can park on the side without No Parking signs, sleeping overnight may earn at minimum an early AM knock on the door (because it looks pretty obvious in this spot with any camper-like vehicle).

Fantastic quiet spot. We stayed for one night in our converted school bus. Couple cops drove by but didn't seem to mind that we were there. Very dark at night and great view of the sunset! People walk by in the morning to go on hikes, so our guard dog was waking us up early to tell us people were nearby. Keep in mind 9th street has a pretty extreme hill so if you're in an RV or larger vehicle that doesn't like hills I suggest taking 8th to get up to it.

lots of spots to park. People walking dogs to nearby park on Sat AM. Security guy from hospital looking at us cooking in the van but no police checking on us later. overall good and quiet night with views on the sea. Steep street to come here.
