Something not right?

Description

The campground is in a nice area direct by a lake. There is a grassy patch where you place your vehicle but you will find nowhere a flat patch. Beside there is a 3-floor wooden construction without any wall. On the groundfloor there are some tables and benches where you can sit and eat on the 2 other floors there are built-up tents which you probably can hire.

Toilets are not working you have to flush with water from a bucket. Showers are only cold. There is no electricity at the place which makes it very uncomfortable at a cold and rainy night and your torch isn't the best.

We asked at the entrance for the fee and the keeper said 15 $ to us. We had to do some shopping in La Fortuna and when we came back, he said 30 $ because the 15 $ is only for one person. We asked to visit the place before paying which he rejected. We should have been warned since 30 $ is definitely too expensive.

The last few meters to the area are very steep and narrow so it is not for sure that a big rig can manage that. We watched a normal campervan which had problems to come up.

we arrived quite late at night but the guy at the entrance was super friendly. The way up is quite steep but we managed easily with our 4×4. There are parking spaces, a camp ground for tents, and some parking spaces for campervans. We stayed on one of those with our rooftop tent, there was enough space and the ground was flat.
The area includes an artificial lake with a tarzan swing, several hikes, horseback riding and much more. The forest behind the campground has many birds and amphibians roaming around. Showers and toilets were clean and working, and there is a sitting space and sinks to do the dishes.
Overall it is a bit pricy but it's evident that the owners invested a lot in this place and continue to do so, it's like a little resort. They also offer tours and there is a nice easy hike with great view on the volcano.

Quiet beautiful place with clea restrooms. Several hiking possiblities. Not good for big rigs the sides are small and the way up sometimes really steep. We saw a lot of animals.

It is a very wooded and beautiful place with a large green lagoon. The entrance is 6 thousand colones per person per night. Includes camping site and park entrance with trails. There are toilets, showers, a sink for washing dishes and clothes. There is a large ranch with tables that is the common area. From the entrance to the ranches it is 1km away, we managed to go up to the end with a 25-passenger high-roof van. There is no electricity or wifi in the ranches, only at the reception.

it is a really beautifull place, but the price is ridiculous .
we were traveling with a car incl a roof tent ,2 persons. and stayed 2 nights
we thought we payed for 2 days when we arrived , but when we left, the owner said the price was for one day, 25 dollar per person per day!!! so 50 dollar a day!!!!
what a rip off, the fence was closed so we had no choice then to pay the guy

This place is expensive. $15/p. It is also very beautiful. There is a great place with a rope swing and nice water. The covered cooking area with tents upstairs has potable water. It is super secure and we had the whole place to ourselves which made it nicer. There are trails and a Coati that will steal everything you take your eyes off of. Some places are cheaper, but not anywhere near so sexy. For an extra $10 per person you get access to Montana de Fuego resort pools and wifi which are 2k away.

Could be nice but is too expensive for what you get.
