Latest Check-Ins

we had a bad experience here, we think there is new ownership. Bad vibes from the start, the owners/ staff were unfriendly or outright rude at times. they are now charging 13,000 CRC per person per night! we are two people and managed to get a room for 19,000 total, which is still a lot for what you get. but we were knackered after a day's cycling so didn't have energy to search for elsewhere.
The room was clean but basic, that's the only good thing to say.
The pool is disgusting! Looks like it hasn't been cleaned for months. WiFi worked OK by reception but nowhere else.
They wouldn't let us take bikes into our room and we were worried about them downstairs, it didn't feel like they would care if anything happened to them.
The next day the lady on reception was hassling us to check out at 8am and they were banging on the doors of other guests demanding they check out, even one guest who was trying to care for her crying baby which was clearly delayiny her ability to leave immeditley! We were shocked by the lack of compassion or care from the hotel, even for a border town place.

Now called “casa del sur” hotel.
looks like the price has gone up loads! Cost for a room (double bed, a/c) was $25 or 16,000colones. Brought both our bicycles into the room no problems.

Tried the parque y soda up the road but they said no camping allowed so felt like we had no choice but to stay in a hotel due to it being after dark and not knowing the lay of the land.

Room itself is nice enough, there’s also a pool you can swim in.

Restaurant downstairs serves set meals for 3,500c.

We are on bikes and on our way to Panamá. This was a very cheap place to stay, $10 (6.000 colones!) for two.

The room had tv, fan, it’s own bathroom and a big bed. We were also happy with the spacious room, both of our bikes fitted pretty well.

The hotel is not longer called “Asia” in fact, we did not see a name but the point on the overlander is correct. The entrance is a bar managed by the same family who runs the rooms. The boss lady, margarita, is very kind.

The rooms are simple but clean. We were given no lock/key for the door but it worked out because we got there around 5pm and we were ready for bed! Felt safe!

There is WiFi but it does not reach the rooms. WiFi is strong at the bar (a bit loud). The Soda Flor (next door) has WiFi and yummy meals
