Something not right?

Description

This is a great free municipal site. The sign says camping is allowed. There are clean bathrooms and free cold showers if they are not locked. The largest shelter (not the bathrooms) has a potable water tap. Great service provided by this little community. Not sure if there is a charge during high season, but in March it was open and no indication of a fee required.

Great spot! When we arrived, the custodian informed us that all the quinchos were reserved for the following day so we couldn’t use them, but that it was no problem to spend the night in our van sheltered by the black netting. You can’t bring a vehicle right next to the tables anymore anyway, as that area is blocked in by some new flower beds. But there’s plenty of space to park up, and you can still use the bathrooms and water taps.

Still free!! It’s officially a free municipal campground right on the beach!!! We felt safe at all times.

At the time of our stay bathrooms and showers were closed, but the whole site is beach, so it's easy to use a shovel.
Drinking water available. Very safe, plus live on site 3 guard dogs that alert when someone is coming. The next morning a group from the municipality of Curepto went to the site to feed the dogs.
We are traveling a Mitsubishi l300 2WD and had no problem getting there. You can easily get to the beachfront, but make sure it is not the bird nesting season. Trash cans available, high camping sites and even a grill per site.

Great place, right on the beach. Still free. Toilets ok, showers were closed. We were alone after sunset, felt safe.

still free also during high season. Not much space though but nevertheless a good place to spend the night. Surprisingly clean toilets. Waterpressure is very low, will take ages to fill up your watertank but as water is scarce it is not a good idea anyway

we were there on a windy day, impossible to stay : sand flying all over despite big black net installed (not very nice..)! the place was totally empty , no locals, no visitors...only toilets opened and we found the place relatively small and isolated and far from sea side... may be an option for the night only arriving late ?

its a nice place. we stayed here for lunch, but you can perfectly stay the night here. the toilets are open and free, there is a tap outside with running water. the showers are closed. you can put your tent under a shelter, there are also tabels.

Peaceful and quiet place near the sea. With clean bathroom and running water, no shower. Free entrance.

Brand new campsite, there are 6 private wooden roof camping area complete with table, bench, bbq table on each of it. The wooden floor is higher not on the sandy ground, so it's really good. I didn't sleep here because i travel with motos, and my tyre not suitable on sandy road. I pitched my tent near this campsite between the entrance and this campsite. There's a flat area in between small trees that protect from winds and sands (if strong winds). I just walked to campsite for toilet and tab water. The shower was locked when I was there. There's note saying that shower will open between 9am-930am and 20pm-21pm, but it was closed in the evening when i was there. Swimming is not allowed on the beach. But motorhome can park there overnight.

It belongs to the community of La Trichera. Very nice and new. Toilets open during the day but locked at night. Showers were locked. Vans and bigger rigs can park in the area next to it as it is more a picnic area. Very quiet and safe. We were welcomed by fog the next morning as it is normal in this area.

Brand new project by the municipality opened jan 10 2020. Very nice! Camping platforms to get you off the sand with tables, benches, cooking pits, garbage bins, bottle recycling, wind breaks and (not open yet) showers and toilets. Really nice beach - huge. Only downside was the wind which brought crazy blowing sand. We left at sunset due to the blowing sand. Good for big rigs. Blowing sand could be an issue for low 2wheel drive cars in the camping area (small drifts) But I’m sure they would clean it up from time to time. Road into it no issue with sand. Highly recommend if no / low wind.

Really nice place. Sadly shower is closed, but drinkable water outside.
