Nice recreation site with pit toilet, tables, fire rings and boat launch. The 8 sites are in the forest for free.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
lovely spot for the night. there were a handful of picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets.
3-4 other groups camping on 8/27
Road has a lot of pot holes. We got a great spot down at the the turn around spot. Don’t go any farther as that is the boat lunch and you will to back out. The road is about 1k in length and narrow.
Report Check-InFree camping at a recreation area. No spots on the water, but we are about 40 yards down a road to a spot where you could put in a small boat.
Report Check-InI was the only one here in July. Very typical recreation site. Steep access in however.
Report Check-InThe entrance to the site comes up quickly so drive slow. The forest is thick and provides a lot of privacy to the upper camping areas. The road wasn’t bad at all for our visit, just drive slow in the pothole sections. The scenery is beautiful near the lake which just has a boat launch, No camp sites. Lots of birds serenading you and ducks bobbing in the lake. Peaceful spot.
Report Check-InBumpy on the way down but fine.
we made it 38ft fifth wheel on oct 3rd 2019
not the most salubrious spot but decent.
Report Check-InPretty nice, spacious and clean outhouses. One is halfway up to service the forest sites.
Report Check-InTrès belle endroit bord de lac table à pique-nique presque 1 km de la route, montagne enneigée et pas de bruit de la route.
Report Check-InRecreation Site 1 km on a small potholed dirtroad from Cassiar Highway with pit toilets, fire rings and picnic tables. Lake access with a boat ramp but the campsites are in the forest a bit away from the lake. Quiet.
Report Check-InAs described. Arrived at 6:30 pm and all the sites but the one in the forest were taken. Toilets are not accessible from this site. Very quiet.
Report Check-InI am in a 35’ class A with I tow. The road Down is narrow and somewhat bumpy - but then, after Alaska, it’s not horrible. There are potholes, especially further down. I stopped at the first campsite. I had to unhook my Tahoe so I could turn around properly. But it is quiet. The mosquitos are out here, since it has recently rained. I only walked part of the road and didn’t see anyone else, but did see a motorcycle come down around 8.
The ground is mostly level and hard packed, I did put something under my back tires - just in case I need help to get out.
We arrived around 5pm and place was empty so had a pick of spot. Nothing is really lake front you see it from far From two front spots everything else is in forest with big picnic tables n fire pit. Many many mosquitoes 🤬.. definitely quiet being far from main road. Some big potholes but doable with any vehicle.
Report Check-InAlways impressive to find those free places. Bigger BC Recreation Site with some spots that can accommodate more than one large rig. There are three campsites closer to lake + the space used by the previous reviewer.
Picnic tables, fire rings and clean pit toilets (2 or 3).
I would add that it’s not the most magical lake since it’s not surrounded by mountains (for concentrated view and reflection), but good for the price and we’ll just appreciate the nicer ones better.
Report Check-InNice Recreation Site at Morchuea Lake. All sites are in the forest and not directly at the lake. Far enough away from Cassiar Highway to be very quiet.
Report Check-InKeep driving to get close to the lake. The camping spots with picnic tables and fire pits were taken near the lake so we parked in an area just before the boat ramp. There is room for probably 4 vans here. There was other campsites farther away from the lake. We just wanted to be close for views. Pit toilet. Make sure you have toilet paper! Don't forget to pack it out.
Report Check-Invery nice place. I stayed with 3 other parties here. at the evening there was maybe 30 minutes long a Lynx near the toilets- amazing
Report Check-InBeautiful lake and very quiet. Note that the lake has leaches if you decide to take a dip.
Report Check-InReally nice place to stay. Lots of campsites. We saw a lots of bears near.
Report Check-InNice recreation site with pit toilet, tables and boate lunch. The 8 sites are in the forest for free
