Latest Check-Ins

According to Campendium there free beach camping for 14 days. We pulled onto the beach and made a right and found I nice spot to back in and be away from the hide tide line. The launch pad is right behind us. Pretty neat. Can see a light flash from the Mexico side of the Rio Grande from Bagdad Lighthouse. Quiet with lots of sea shells if that’s your thing.

We went there and they said the place is close.

parked on the entry road near the beach for several nights with no problem. great views in all directions.

This place is a dump to be honest. Ugly beach, lots of trash left by slobs. The only reason to come here is to see the space center. The road in is terrible. Mr Musk needs to spend some money on the road that his overweight trucks have ruined.

Report Check-In

Spent the overnight on the road shoulder literally right next to the Orbital Launch Pad with a stacked Super Heavy and a Starship on the Mechazilla platform. Quiet except for 7AM pressure release. Thought the rocket was taking off. Just one day before our arrival, SpaceX said it loaded more than 10 million pounds of fuel onto the vehicle.

great spot, at high tide it is better to stay away from the beach and stick to road camping.

Beautyfull beach RIGHT NEXT (like crazy close!) to Starship mechazilla launchpad. All good to stay, but check the road closures here, as you will get evicted if testing is planned:

Bonne place pour un soir de dodo tranquille

Belle plage pour ce baigner et la pêche tranquille pour dormir à l’entrée de la plage sur le bord de la route #4 juste à côté de la tour de décollage

Never again, parked almost on the beach, right at the end of the access road, had a tractor trailer!?!?, parked right behind me with his engine running 10 hours straight, so I moved back further down the road, and then around 9:00 at night SpaceX workers welding and pounding steel on one of the towers, with Mexican music blasting loud, I guess I just picked the wrong time to visit. But I won't bother coming back.

I parked on the side of the road because the sand was not packed enough. Some people slept on the beach. Awesome view on SpaceX and the beach!

Very cool spot. Would have needed 4x4 to park on beach today. Parked on street with a view of the ocean and Space X. No issues!!

beautiful beach, got in late so stayed right under space-x, drove the beach in the morning. got kicked off the beach by Elon Musk just after breakfast for testing. beautiful area.

Report Check-In

Nice beach and warm waters even in January. No one else camping but lots of fishermen all hours of day and night. South padre and Padre island seashores were nicer with more room to get away from the tide. Space X kicked us off the beach due to testing. Lots of trash regretfully.

I’m parked here now. It’s nice! In a Chevy Blazer, I made it through the sand in two wheel drive, but it definitely went easier in 4 wheel drive.

My friend in her Honda van is parked on the road at the entrance.

Report Check-In

Nice beach with beautiful dunes just past the SpaceX launch site. Tide was high and the beach was at a slight slant so we parked on the road at the entrance where there were other vans and rvs. Beautiful drive to get there. Trash cans to help keep the place clean.

Looks like a great spot, but tide was too high to park on the beach (full moon was yesterday).

Non recommende sauf pour des 4x4, il a été impossible d’entre sur la plage suivant des traces de plus de 12 po de creux dans le sable ....
