3 day camping with $12 beach pass on this particular stretch of beach.
Lots of day time active people. Pretty quiet at night. the ocean drowns a lot of noise.
generator ok cell service full 5GUC on T-Mobile.
Be prepared for wind. Always a 5-10mph wind bathroom, trash cans and cold rinse off showers up and down the beach.

Ignore the iOverlander disclaimer. You can buy a beach permit most anywhere. The northeast portion of the beach is better suited when the weather is inhospitable. It’s wide and safe. A higher concentration of campers are also found here as it’s very close to town. Farther southwest things thin out but the beach doesn’t afford as much protection from high tides and wind driven surge. We were forced off of Padre Island NS due to exactly that so this was the natural place to come too. Port Aransas is pretty cute as far as little tourist beach communities go. Spring Break? Forget about it. Come fully loaded with food and drink. Options are limited. Best shopping is at H.E.B. Plus in Flour Bluff or Walmart. The Bait Bucket is just around the corner from H.E.B. and is the best place to get bait but they sell out early. We still prefer Padre Island NS (PINS) but sometimes the weather makes the decision for you.

good packed road no problems in my 32ft motorhome. get pass for 12.00 at grocery store or any gas station before you get here. they don't sell them here and it's a 500.00 fine for not having one. free parking area from the pier to the jetty but no overnight parking in that area. bland Beach . not many shells .. lots of people. sting rays and jelly fish .. BUT if you walk to the end of the road where the bay is there are DOLPHINS !

A great set-up for beach camping. Easy to drive around and find a space to park. The beach is clean, lots of trash cans and portapotties. Stayed for a few nights and as a female solo traveler can say I felt completely safe.

Purchased a Beach Parking Pass at I.B.Magee park office. The beach was mot crowded at this time of year, had lots of spots to choose from. The vibe is that if it's not busy and you're a good visitor they won't move you along after 3 nights. I stayed 6. More money to buy local! Don't miss the Belt Sander races. ❤️🇨🇦🌲

two night stay on the beach. good place to relax. not crowded. lot of cars during the day driving the road. trash and port potties.
got my pass at a gas station.

Great beach camping any vehicle can make it on this hard packed beach.

Haven't yet seen anyone under the age of 55. You can get a beach parking pass at many of the local businesses. We got ours at IGA and did grocery shopping at the same time - it lasts until the end of the calendar year, so maybe don't buy one in late december. There are a ton of porta potties & trash receptacles on the beach which is nice. good luck not getting hit by a golf cart.

The weather wasn’t great but being on the Gulf was. Good phone reception ATT. Porta potties and dumpsters. Hard packed and great place to boondock. Stayed 5 days.

Had a wonderful overnight. This spot is a must visit for only $12 for a beach permit. We purchased ours up the street at the Stripes. Golf carts are very active at night.

Amazing beach. 70 degrees in December. $12 annual permit required but sold out this late in the year so camping was free. Many out houses along the beach.

Good packed sand very few ppl staying during week. We stayed in 2wd camper van but parked in semi soft sand back up next to birm due to being concerned about tide. Ended up getting stuck and could have just stayed on packed sand instead. Tide doesn’t come up high enough for u to have to search for high ground.

Beach is currently closed to Vehicular Traffic due to Covid-18 until August 1 2020.

We stayed near marker 15 on the beach after driving down a few miles and not finding a spot that was quiet. It was very busy since it was a 3 day weekend with nice weather. We preferred staying in the designated parking area by the wood markers vs the open beach since we didn't need to worry about where to park with the tide, etc. We purchased our permit at the IGA a few blocks away. Even though it was busy it was still fairly quiet at night. Water was warm enough to wade into. 2nd and 3rd day were very foggy.

Camping at the beach. NeRby portapottid not a great deal of traffic this time of year. Beach permit required, but purchase good for o e year.

Very nice and quiet beach. Enough warm water for end of March to swing. Good strong parking on sand for any size of rigs. Windy but no fog. Require a $12 annual permit see the pics. Good hdtv antenna and cell reception.
